Question about Samsung RS2534 Side by Side Refrigerator

1 Answer

I need help fixing my ice maker on a samsung rs2533sw side by side. It froze over and I just removed all of the ice. I am not sure how to re-assemble the unit. ie. the small sensor tube and plastic shaped piece that seems to be free of any connection. Tray is full of Ice, but will not dump into ice bucket.

Give the fix reply again in full sentence. can't understand what you are trying to say?

So what do I do? I appreciate the free advice. The problem presented itself after a power failure, then the tray filled and froze solid, did not dump into the ice bucket, as the water cycled into the tray, over flowed and caused water to drip down into the ice bucket, this then drip forward through the ice dispenser and overflowed the water catch basin. Kind of a mess.

THE LITTLE SENSOR GOES UNDERNEITH THE ICE TRAYU IN THE FOAM RIGHT BY THE MAIN ICE MACHINE MOTOR. THERES TWO CLIPS THAT HOLD THE PLASTIC PIECE ON AND LETS THE SENSOR GET A TRY READING ON THE ICE TRAY.

i appologize , underneath the ice maker towards the door is where the sensor and the plastic piece goes There should also be a piece of foam that acts as an insulator for the sensor so that it only senses the ice temperautre. Once agian my hublest appolgies for the fractured sentences earler.

lets try this, take the ice tray and where the Black rubber piece right on the front is push that up and at the same time the whole ice maker towards you and it should pull off the refrigerator. Then turn it over and right beside the bottom of the tray you will see the little prongs that the cover snaps onto the tray with they are towards the front of the tray. thats where the sensor and the plastic cover goes. After you get them togetherw then just slide the whol ice maker back into the freezer just like it was removed. Let me know if you still have problems and thanks for using Fixya.

SAMSUNG MODEL RS2533SW/CUR ICEMAKER MAKING ICE BUT NOT DUMPING

This sometimes happens with my KitchenAid ice maker.
Usually there is a piece of ice stuck on the side where the sensor is that causes the ice to drop. I usually carefully chip away at any ice that is stuck. Once the stuck ice is removed, the ice maker works fine.

Ice maker not making ice and water is not flowing

this could be several items so will go down the list in order... 1st you need to make sure you have a good clean filter or that it has been changed recently... sometimes removed and reinstalled will also help... 2nd do you have 120 volts ac current to the water valve when called for water example" someone pushing the water dispenser handle while you test... if you have 120 volts and no water coming you have a bad water valve... if the dispenser is working but the ice maker is not filling with water they do have dual water valves and one side can actually be bad... before shooting the water valve down though if your getting water to the dispenser but not to ice maker make sure the unit is actually calling for water... on most of these ice makers there is a gear motor on the front part of ice maker there will be a white cover over the front of unit remove it and turn gear motor makes sure it is not broke.. is there frozen water in ice maker if so may be the heater on ice maker is bad... if no water again before shooting down water valve make sure the fill tube coming into ice maker is not froze up...if it is froze up most likely you have a weak water valve and needs to be replaced due to not seating properly.... hope this helps hard to diagnose when not sure what all you have already tested or not...

Hello, I have an Samsung rs2533sw. the ice maker stopped working. it is at 8 degree. at this juncture, the manual reset switch does not work. if I let it unthaw then it works. once it gets cold it doesn't...

Hey heads up! The ice-cube maker has two parts... In fancy terms the business motor end, and the back-stop. Your back-stop is all busted. Mostly because it's been used successfully as a backstop for a few thousand times. The piece costs about $20, and you can get it at any Samsung parts distributor. The best way to check this is that your ice-cube tray will look like it's coming un-hinged in the back when it attempts to empty the ice.

When it works properly the ice-cube tray is actually contorted about 45 degrees from the front end to the back. The same way an adult male would crush ice.

Icemaker does not make much ice

Could possibly be a temperature sensor, but most likely the heating coil that heats the ice receptacles is burned out. The ice maker needs this heater to momentarily heat the walls of the ice receptacles so that the ice will easily come out of them.

Sorry, but this usually means a new ice maker. They're pretty easy to install and really don't cost that much (less than $150).

Ice turning into a solid block in freezer. Samsung Refigerator

Hey, Your defrost thermostat or defrost heater may need to be replaced. The frost should be removed every 8 hours automatically. The ice is not freezing all the way into cubes because the temp. is too warm in the freezer to make ice.
The wire may just be a ground wire BUT it may have electrical current going in it.
This is dangerous and need to be repaired. Hope this helps.

Samsung rs2533sw fridge not cooling

soiunds like the coil on the refrigerator side is iced up.take and open the refrfigerator side and take a blow drier and after removing the 11 screws use the hair drier to slowly melt the icec behind the cover. If you pull too hard and or too soon you'll break the stryofoam ductin that has to be around the coil. then make sure that the drain line is clear reassemble and have a Merry Christmas!
