Freezer works but refridgerator warm

Recently my ice maker on my kenmore side by side has broken. I removed the device but has the following problem on the refridgerator. the freezer works fine and cools rapidly. the fridge sector is warm and most food spoilt. there is very little cold air from the vent and this increases if the freezer door is opened. the freezer airlocks ok but the fridge just stays warm. there is no icing up behind the back panel. appliance just over 1 year old.

You could find ice behind the back panel - worth a check. however the problem is probably ice in the return vent from fridge to freezer and the only way to cure is to switch off and leave for a day with doors open. if im right and you try this, if it re-occurs you may have a problem with the defrost system

I had the same problem. My Ice Maker started on fire, so I took it out of the freezer. This is when my problem started. There is a steel panel that the ice maker is mounted to. This steel panel when in place deflects the air from the freezer into the refrigerator side. I checked the hole between the frig and freezer it was clear. when i placed the steel panel back in i coild feel the cold air entering the refrig. THANKS!!!!!

FRIDGE TO WARM MODEL ED22DWXTNOO

It's a circulation problem so either the fan in the back of the freezer(circulates freezer and blows cold into fridge) or the defrost element. If the element is faulty the rear ices up and air won't flow. If fan is faulty it's not blowing the cold air. Remove rear panel if no ice it's the fan if its full of ice it needs the defrost element(usually get termination sensor also depending on type) If you open the freezer door and hold in the doorswitch you should hear the fan running if its working.

I Have Kenmore side by side model #10657022601. I cant unlock control panel for water and Ice , I hold the button in for 10 sec and stay lock , it should unlock in 3 sec.

You will need to remove the ice maker from the freezer compartment to check it. Once it is repaired if the following information does help, and you reinstall the ice maker, it should go through a cycle automatically within an hour of your reinstalling it in the freezer compartment. Once you have the ice maker out of the freezer compartment you will need to remove the white cover on the end of the ice maker and look at the center of the large white gear. If the part inside the hole in the center of the gear is broken or looks twisted, you will need to replaced the module. The module is the part that has the large white gear and is held in the ice maker by 3 phillips head screws. It only comes as an assembly. You can't get just the little broken piece.

Refridgerator is warm, freezer is freezing

Defrost problem. Most likely the defrost heater or defrost thermostat.

My Refridgerator/freezer is not working

Sounds as if the compressor is not running even tho the fans are. The overload relays on the side of the compressor are usually the source of this problem. They are on the side of the compressor and if you change these out you should be fine. Fairly easy to do as it should just be a plug connecting it. Hope this helps.

Our Hotpoint side by side refridgerator, the ice/water not workin

It sounds like you have a failing relay/valve that wont stay open when current is passed through them, check there first otherwise your control board could have water/heat damage remove inspect and if necessary replace let me know how it goes :)

Ice maker not making ice

either the thermostat is bad or the heater isnt working. You could take the icemaker out and connect leads to the heater to see if it warms up or use an ohm meter to test the heater and thermostat. Also take the cover off and see if the cog wheel on the motor is broken.

Ice maker not working

I recently had trouble with both my water dispenser and my ice maker. I determined that my filter was clogged, so I replaced it. That fixed the water dispenser but the ice maker still wasn't working. I investigated further and found that the water inlet tube was frozen solid. Aparently, when the filter was clogged the water came in so slowly that it froze before it got to the icetray. I tried pouring hot water over the inlet tube to melt it and it mostly worked, but there was still some ice in the tube further back where I couldn't reach. Finally I defrosted the freezer so all the ice could melt and turned it back on and now it works great! Hope this might help.
