Just finished installing a KN8-SLI, with 2 bridged GeForce 6800 GPUs, checked and double checked all power and hardware connections, checked them again, turned the power source on, bot the expected leds on the board then hit power switch, got no display, get a constant intermittent beep, every second or so, ongoing. Tried pulling memory, disconnected the RAM, disconnected DVD & CD drives, floppy drive, and tried restart with every removal. CLeared CMOS (recommended by ABIT) at the beginning of all this after the first failed start. Started out with a AMD Athlon 64, then switched to a Sempron 3400 that wa son the board when I got it, no difference. Not many other ideas... can you help???

Sounds like a bad or wrong stick of memory
that shoul tell you something, the mmemory in and out gives you the same error, means the memory is bad, it should have given you a different code, ok try thismove the memory to each slot and try to boot, sometimes a board will specufy which motherboard msmory slot needs to be used first, and try a stick or different memory, it should have given you a different code with no mem at all, it's not reading it.
Some boards only like certain ram also depending if it is running only in dual channel it may need to be set for that see in the bios what it loos like and send me a link with a screen shot if you can, but your on the right track, once this grts running right i'm counting on you to give me 4 intead of 2 stars, I just fixed another sli for a guy who works on computers for a living in here. we will get it. Put the big dual core in and clear the cmos, be back to you later, Gym, hesr's a hotmail address georgeburns723@ you know what to put afterthe @.
thanks

I tried it without ANY memory installed, same problem
so... if the memory is bad and I get a beeping, but then I start with no memory at all, and still get the same beeping, how could it possibly be the memory, since it is not in there to give me any error on any particular stick??? It has to be something else in what is installed giving the same error, regardless of memory installation (I have 4 1G sticks, tried them all , in various config's, no dice!). I Have been reading and reading and saw something about the ATX power being 20 pin vs 24 pin. The board has 24, and the power source has 24, along with the 4 pin with 2 yel, 2 blk wires. Is it possible the power source (Coolmax CXI-500B) is incompatible with this board, or bad?
OK... I tried differnet sticks in different slots and I guess I never had tried 3 and 4, but when I did, I can get into BIOS now... yay!...? We'll see how much further I get. So now my question is, this thing has 4 DIMM slots, but can only go up to 2 GB??? I have 4 identical sticks of 1gb 400ddr, but only 2 work. Is there anything I can do to expand to the supposed 4GB max?
I am into BIOS and loading WinXp Pro now, but have a whole new prob, which I will post separately as "Unable to read disk or disk error, press ctrl+alt+del to restart"
. . . . Just a note to wrap this one up. . . . One of 4 sticks of RAM I had was BAD. I tried several different combinations and isolated the one bad stick, sent it back and they are sending me a new pair...
