My Whirlpool GS6SHAXMB00 ice dispenser is not working.
When I depress the dispender paddle, I can see the flapper in the chute open slowly, but the auger doesn't turn. If the motor is dead, how do I replace it? Is there access to the motor from the front door? Please advise. Thanks.

Re: My Whirlpool GS6SHAXMB00 ice dispenser is not...
The ice motor can be remove from a door just under the ice bin... two screws hold the door . four screws hold the motor in ...remove motor and check it may just be frozen. thaw it out check the seal at it may be let water drip down the shaft...

W10224328 Dispenser Door Spring The chute door is the reason your ice bin is freezing up and also the chute door being open draws warm moist air inside your freezer compartment causing massive amounts of frost and keeps the compressor runing all the time between defrost. You really n eed to get the chute door fixed. What is the correct model number? For the model KSRX25FT dispenser parts click HERE The chute door spring may be broken but you will not know untill you open the dispenser housing. I'm here should you post the correct model number or have questions, Sea Breeze
first check would be to see if the flapper door is closing all the way in the dispenser area. best way is to remove the ice bucket and shine a flashlight from the front up into the disp door area and look for light around the door from inside the chute.
another check would be to make sure the door delay mechanism is connected an not allowing the dispenser door to close to fast trapping a cubes in the door and causing an air leak in the chute..
Keep in mind if you use alot of crushed ice frost build up is faster than with just cubed.
You have a Mechanism delay come out. it holds the flaper open and close it slowly. is the end with the arm on it broken you will have to disassemble the dispenser front to get the new one back in... let me know Thanks
