Question about Tatung Elio Photo JukeBox MP3 Player

Updating Firmware Beware downloading the M100 utility software from the Tatung website advised on this site. It comes along complete with four editions of the WUD Trojan nasty. Also it doesn't work !!! After you have downloaded the latest 2005 version of the firmware and try to flash your player, you get an error message telling you to download the latest version of the firmware (which you have done). Best of all, you can't remove the thing from your PC, as the uninstall option fails !!!! Great, you get something that doesn't work, infects your PC and can't be removed. Stick with the supplied (old) firmware version !!!!!!

Re: Updating Firmware

Funny, I downloaded it, scanned it, and didn't see any problems... I even opened some of the files with Winrar to see what was going on inside and see if they would point somewhere else...To no avail. I don't see anything wrong with this file truthfully, did you download it from here: and when I did a search on the Trojan that you were talking about, I got no results. I see that all files were being installed within %windir%\system32 and %windir%\system32\dllcache in case you are looking for ANYTHING new that was installed (check the dates) and then get rid of that. But you might want to check other things that were installed recently and scan that as well.

I have a 8gb sansa view and up until 2 days ago it would come on

Recovery for the Sansa View is described on the Sandisk site in 3 steps:

1. Reset the device:
The reset is meant for switching the player off completely, before going to the recovery mode.
2. Force recovery mode:
Recovery mode is meant for recognizing the player on the computer and making backups of files from player to the computer, before clearing the device while updating it to the latest firmware.
3. Update to the latest firmware:
Updating the firmware is meant for completely erasing the players' drive and putting new software on it back again.

As you follow the instructions of the last step you'll require the "Sansa Firmware Updater".
It can be downloaded with the next link:

Missing operating sistem in my elio player 20 GB

Hi Trueman, I have had a similar problem: Operating system not found. I fixed it by using elio utility that is installed along with elio Media Manager. The elio utility can be opened by clicking All Programs -> Elio -> elio utility. There are options like "Recover", "Reinstall" and so on. Try "Recover" at first. Good luck Regards F.M
