Try resetting the router/modem to factory settings. It is possible the saved WPA2 key is different then the default key so it is stopping you from adding the WPA2 key on the device.

Good luck!

SOURCE: missing drivers after reinstall

Yes :c)

Go here and select the type of notebook you have, whether it's an intel processor or an AMD processor. Follow the links to download your audio, network video, and wireless adapters as well as the motherboard drivers. Run each download and it will tell you step by step on how to install the manual ones and most of them will install automatically.

I am not familiar withat Nokia suite. Do you know if it is dial up or DSL? When you press that button, do you hear white noise and then a dialing sound?

If this does not solve all your problems, please reply.

SOURCE: DELL E6400 Connect to wireless Modem problem

I have the EXACT same problem on the same computer.
I'm not an expert so I searched online but didn't really find a lot of responses to this Dell issue. One suggestion was to turn off Intel PROset and let Windows manage the wireless connection.
That worked for me.
When in the Intel PROset menu, click on Advanced, then click on "Let windows manage your wireless set-up."
Alternatively, you can toggle between the two software by pressing F10.
This solution worked for me.

To connect your computer to a wireless router, you click the Refresh network list, then Choose your wireless network and then click Connect to your secured Wireless Network, it will asks for a Network Key before allowing you to connect into your wireless network. This Network Key is either the WEP, or WPA or WPA2 Encryption key that is configured in the Wireless settings in the Router. The Passphrase is an alternate way to setup the Encryption key.
When you are requested for a Network Key, you can just enter the Passphrase or WPA or WPA2 key that was used to configure the Encryption key in the wireless router. http://www.fixya.com/support/r5270415-network_password_network_address For information on securing your wireless network, configuring the wireless router and configuring the wireless card in the laptop/computer, please click on this link and follow my instructions :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

Why won't laptop connect to wireless internet? Wifi is working, another computer in home is fine

are you at home or Starbuck? location matters.
so, the compaq must be setup correctly.
your router broadcasts the SSID name seen by you on all devices, see that on the Compaq (y/n)
then you must pick wep. or wpa, or wpa2 encyption mode.
as set in your router, we cant see inside you router only you can
then set the passphrase to what you router wants.
is this XP, windows
does the wifi chip look ok in device manager?
Is XP infected.? with malware as all are now.

never post about computers lacking what operating system you have, or answers will be wrong, even all answers.

NETWORK SSID

Some later model wireless routers have the Password(ie.Encryption key) and the SSID already configured in the wireless router andthis information is printed on a label on the bottom of the router.
These settings can be used to configure the wireless card and wireless adaptersin your computer/laptop.
If these settings do not suit you, then it can be changed to suit yourrequirements.
The encryption key secures your data and wireless connection from unauthorizedaccess. To configure the wireless settings in the router, connect a LAN cablefrom your computer to the wireless router, then open a Browser on your computerand enter the router's configuration IP address, then enter the admin login andpassword and then go to the wireless settings and configure the SSID andEncryption key.
The router's encryption key can be a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA or WPA2key.If you use the Passphrase method select either WEP or WPA or WPA2 togenerate the encryption key. You can enter the WEP or WPA or WPA2 key with 8 to63 ASCII characters or 64 Hex digits.
Most people use Passphrase which is easier to remember eg. I was born inJanuary 1988.
The strongest and latest security is WPA2, the weakest and oldest is WEP. Toconnect to your wireless router from the computer/laptop, configure thewireless card in your computer/laptop with the router's wireless settings ieSSID, plus the WPA or WPA2 encryption key. Then computer/laptops cancommunicate with your wireless router.http://www.fixya.com/support/r10267861-network_security_key

  2. Plug the power cable into the router
  3. Plug another ethernet cable from one of the LAN ports (1-4) to an ethernet port on the computer your going to use to setup the router.
  4. Open a web browser and enter 192.168.1.1 and press enter
  5. When prompted for a login use USER: admin PASS: 1234, press enter

Theencryption key secures your data from unauthorized access. The router's password is a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA orWPA2 encryption key. The Passphrase generates the WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryptionkey and this is in the router's wireless settings. To connect to your wireless router, it needs the router'swireless settings configured ie SSID, WPA or WPA2 encryption key and also thewireless cards in all the laptops and or computers needs to be configured withthese router's wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktop computers can communicatewith your wireless router.

I dont know ho to change the password on the PK5000Z Wireless Router

I just set up my new ZyXEL PK500Z, so happen to know this answer. In the ZyXEL Qwest Modem Configuration (launch 192.168.0.1), select Wireless Setup, then Wireless Security. Scroll down to Enter Security Key/Passphrase. Unless you changed this, Use Default is selected. If you want to use a password of your own creation, select Use Custom, then enter the password you want. Finish with Apply. Everything connected to your network will be prompted to re-enter the password. Is this what you were after?

How do you access WPA Key Settings on a ZyXEL modem?

To access Zyxel configuration/setup utility, launch a web browser (Internet Explorer, Opera, Firefox, or Netscape, etc.) on your computer, type in http://192.168.1.1 (default IP address for most Zyxel wireless devices) in your Internet browser's Location/Address bar, and then press Enter on your keyboard.
If presented with a user authentication (login) screen, try the following:

Default Username - Zyxel Wireless Router: N/A (none, leave blank)
Default Password - Zyxel Wireless Router : 1234

If you cannot login using the above, verify that (a) you are entering your password correctly, and that (b) your CAPSLOCK key is off. It could also be due to the firmware (a set of instructions stored on an EEPROM microchip) on your Zyxel product being corrupt. If so, you would need to reset your Zyxel WiFi router to its factory default settings.

IMPORTANT: Do not forget to promptly secure your Zyxel router (using a strong password, a non-obvious WEP Key, etc.) following a reset to factory default settings. Failing to do so may potentially expose your entire WLAN to scammers.

*Your vote is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
