Installation of Xi3000 Barcode Scanner

I have the disk that came with the unit. It is not clear what executable or in what order I run the executable. How do I set this up? One document on the disk has install instructions, but they are not for what I have. On the disk is PrintBarcode.exe and ScanManager.exe, but neither appear to work. Help, please!

Depending on what you need to do, you may or may not need the ScanManager Software. If you simply want to append a TAB rather than a Carriage Return, or disable the 0 in front of UPC-A barcodes, this can easily be accomplished using the manual.

It is only with rather complex operations (say, omitting the account number on fedex barcodes, resulting in a scan that only returns the tracking number), then you will probably need the software.

If you have any questions, let me know.

Here is the link to the user manual in pdf and a download of the necessary software; http://www.pos-x.com/download.asp?manufacturer=9&model=32 The software is a zip/rar compressed file so you will need a decrompressor - if you dont have Winrar or Winzip then goto this link; http://www.rarlabs.com/download.htm and you can download a free trial version. Extract the file and it should be able to be installed - hopefully the problem was with your cd. Hope this helps, please ask again if not :)

I've been getting pop-up windows that say I am prevented from opening or changing documents/files due to lack of authorization or permission. I am the owner of and only person using this computer. How can...

I am not sure if the documents or files that you are opening or changing are from attachments sent to you via email or not, but I can suggest that you can try this step:

Right click on one of the affected files and select Get Info.

This will open a long narrow box providing detailed information of the document.

Now look at the bottom of the window under Sharing & Permissions

Click the padlock and enter your User Admin password when the pop up window appears.

This will allow you access to changing the current permissions of this document.

fb92ac0.png

Make sure you see permissions for "Read and Write" attached to your user name.

If you do, then go ahead and close this window. However, if you see only Read permissions attached to your user, then change that to Read and Write.

Once you have done this, close this Get Info window.

Try to launch that affect document to see if it opens now. If it does then this may be a permissions issue that is affecting your documents and files.

Whether you can or not, I would still recommend you still run this procedure below in order to try and fix this permissions issue.

Now run Disk Utility to repair all permissions on your Mac OS X volume.

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} -RUN DISK UTILITY-

Go to Finder Menu bar
• Click Go > Utilities > Disk Utility and open up Disk Utility app.
• Click on Macintosh HD volume (or on the name you have changed this volume to.)
• Select "Repair Disk Permissions"
**Let Disk Utilities run this repair permissions until completion

Once Disk Utility is complete and there are no errors in red in the completion summary (if there are errors listed in red, re-run Disk Utility to see if those error will clear- if they don't reply back to this post right away and let me know what the exact error message is), quit Disk Utility.

• Now attempt once again to access the affected documents and files and see if you are able to access these items now.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

I open a link with word document and I get code execution has been interrupted, and it asks me if I want to debug, stop, clear, and click next on the pop up display.

If this occurs in specific link, the problem must be parametric. Or if it appears in all the link, you should reinstall the word document again and if the problem does not resolve, remove Microsoft Visual Basic Enterprise completely and then check. If it is opening correctly, then reinstall Microsoft Visual Basic Enterprise. If problem appreas again, there must be something fishy in your Visual Basic disk.

That is a HIGH temperature detect error code.
Check the thermistor, if you measure 0 ohm resistance in the thermistor, replace it.

Press the stop/clear key, start key
and the left copy exposure adjustment
key in the order presented and hold
them down.
Press the stop/clear key.
Enter the number of the maintenance

exposure adjustment keys or the zoom
+/- keys.
Go to U163 and hit the Start Key, this will reset the trouble code.

Intellinav.exe application error

The error 0xC0000005 is generated by an illegal "memory access violation". This can be caused by anything from faulty RAM, an incorrect/corrupt device driver, poorly written/updated software and more commonly under Windows XP Service pack 2, malware/adware installations.

Usually you get this error message when performing a specific task, and if that happens you need to check the corresponding 3rd party's website/support department to see if they are aware of the problem

..a while back symantec Antivirus caused the 0xC0000005 error with an additional message about a file called SAVRT.SYS . A simple software update to the Symantec Antivirus cured the problem.
So what can you do...? well below are a couple of suggestions:

0xC0000005 - Resolution Suggestion One:
In many cases this error has been generated by faulty RAM memory. So if you have just upgraded your computer with some new memory and you started getting this error then I would remove them and see if the error goes away. If it does then send the memory back and get a refund!

0xC0000005 - Resolution Suggestion Two:
In Windows XP Service Pack 2 Microsoft introduced Data execution prevention (DEP), a set of hardware and software technologies that perform additional checks on memory to help protect against malicious code exploits. In Windows XP SP2, DEP is enforced by both hardware and software.

Some software/application behaviors are incompatible with DEP - data execution prevention. Applications which perform dynamic code generation
(such as Just-In-Time code generation) and that do not explicitly mark generated code with Execute permission might have compatibility issues with data execution prevention. Applications which are not built with Safe SEH must have their exception handlers located in executable memory regions.

Applications that attempt to violate DEP will receive an exception with status code STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xC0000005).

If an application requires executable memory, it must explicitly set this attribute on the appropriate memory by specifying PAGE_EXECUTE, PAGE_EXECUTE_READ, PAGE_EXECUTE_READWRITE or PAGE_EXECUTE_WRITECOPY in the memory protection argument of the Virtual* memory allocation functions.

If you are having issues with 0xC0000005 errors in DEP and a particular piece of software is causing the offense, contact the vendor for a resolution...

Note: It is possible to "Turn Off" DEP in the boot.ini file but this really would be a last step!
/NOEXECUTE

This option is only available on 32-bit versions of Windows when running on processors supporting no-execute protection. It enables no-execute protection (also known as Data Execution Protection - DEP), which results in the Memory Manager marking pages containing data as no-execute so that they cannot be executed as code. This can be useful for preventing malicious code from exploiting buffer overflow bugs with unexpected program input in order to execute arbitrary code. No-execute protection is always enabled on 64-bit versions of Windows on processors that support no-execute protection.

There are several options you can specify with this switch:

/NOEXECUTE=OPTIN Enables DEP for core system images and those specified in the DEP configuration dialog.

/NOEXECUTE=OPTOUT Enables DEP for all images except those specified in the DEP configuration dialog.

/NOEXECUTE=ALWAYSON Enables DEP on all images.

/NOEXECUTE=ALWAYSOFF Disables DEP. (This setting doesn't provide any DEP coverage for any part of the system, regardless of hardware DEP support. The processor doesn't run in Physical Address Extension (PAE) mode unless the /PAE option is present in the boot.ini file.)

0xC0000005 - Resolution Suggestion Three:
I have also seen this error in the gaming community when folks have updated drivers for their graphics card. If this happens just roll back your drivers.

0xC0000005 - Resolution Suggestion Four:
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 stops responding when you try to open an HTML document or a Web page. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
Access Violation (0xC0000005 exception)

CAUSE:

This problem may occur when you use Internet Explorer 6.0 to open an HTML document or a Web page that contains SPAN tags. If a SPAN tag is not closed correctly by using the </SPAN> tag, an access violation may occur.
WHY are you using IE6 still??? Upgrade to IE 7 today!

...and that should have now resolved the 0xC0000005 error for you!
