Monitor screens blanks a few seconds after I switch on computer
My monitor blanks after I switch on my computer, the green power light stays on, but the screen is blank. If I switch the monitor off and then on again it happens again, if I continue this process the monitor screen eventually works (most of the time). Is there a problem with the monitor or the computer?

Ok, another words, monitor powers up for few seconds and shuts down by itself. If green LED on the front panel turns off as well or stays on? If stays on, then inverter turns into protection mode because of old backlight lamps. If it turns off in same time with an image on the screen, then there are some bad electrolytic capacitors in the power supply.
Ive seen this on other monitors. Look for a 1 and 2. Some monitors do NOT auto detect a signal, and this one might not. Look for a way to set the monitor from Digital input to VGA input. Try that and see.
You have a monitor with a common problem. After a few years some LCD monitorswill
blow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts calledcapacitors
overheating in the confined space of he monitor. If you aregood at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix he problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htmYou
can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad
parts, replace any that look like the pictues and your monitor should
workfine. The capacitors do need to be installed with the correct + and
-connections, note the stripe on the old one and insert the new one
thesame way. If you don't want to try the repair yourself we offer a repair service for $35 plus shipping. I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.
