I am wanting to wire a Baxi 105E boiler to a Danfoss 102 mechanical timer. The boiler has 5 wires = red, blue, earth, black and yellow. The Timer has six terminals = 1 DHW, 2 HTG, 3 COM, I (earth), 5...

1) Contact baxi:
http://www.baxi.co.uk/contact.htm

2) Which boiler wires? I don't know. Page 24 manual.
Manual says to disconnect link between terminals 1 and 2, and instert timer in-line.
http://www.acwilgar.co.uk/Boiler-Manual-PDF/Baxi/Combi%20instant%2080E%20&%20105E.pdf

2) I can tell you about the timer wiring.
Timer is 230Volts
Not sure if you have British Hot-Neutral 230Volt, or Hot-Hot 230Volt.
Wiring is same 2 wires, but words to describe are different.
Let's say you have Hot-Neutral 230V
Connect Hot to L6
Connect Neutral to N5
This will power the timer so it runs and keeps time.
You can get Hot-Neutral wires from Hot-Neutral that arrive to power the boiler.

Now the timer terminals are separate.
E terminal is Earth or ground.
The Common is Hot wire.
The timer then turns on-off and switches back and forth between DHW and HTG.
HTG is heating
DHW is defrost.
Timer has 2 sets contacts.

When timer activates first set of contacts, then DHW defrost terminal receives power from Hot wire on Com terminal. At this time, all power is cut to HTG heating terminal.

When the defrost cycle ends, then the heating circuit receives power, and then the timer has programming that opens and closes a second set of contacts going to HTG heating terminal.

Which wires from boiler connect to each terminal, I am not sure.

I have a newlec timer channel plusxl model nlh37 unable to programme it after it was switched off, all heating systems running at same time

1) Power surge such as turning power ON can put out timers.

2) Reset timer, and if functionality is not restored, then replace timer.

3) These timers usually have 1 year limited warranty.

4) Add comment and include photo of timer. And post your .pdf manual on your website, and include link to manual so timer and steps for reset can be ascertained.

I have lost the instructions for my boiler and I have seen that the timer is a Grassling timer, i don't know when it is on or off, it might not even work as the radiators seem to stay hot whatevr I do.

Without knowing which Grasslin timer you have, I cannot offer specific instructions:
Find Grasslin timers and manuals at following link:
http://www.intermatic.com/products/grasslin.aspx

I am familiar with Grasslin timers, and you can add a comment with specific question and I will respond.

Baxi boiler timer

1)Push all the little pins (bits) inward toward the centre of the dial
2)Set timer to correct time by
turning dial to current time, ie if present time is 4.00 p.m.
Turn the dial until 4.00 p.m is aligned with the arrow symbol
3)PULL OUT all the ( bits) toward the outer edge of the dial to set the time that you want the heating to come on .eg pull out all pins between 6.00am and 9.00am(as each pin represents 15 minutesyou should have 12 pins pushed out)
4) Ensure the3 way switch in the middle of dial is in the middle position(timer) if it is at top position boiler is(constant on)and at bottom positon boiler is turned off.
