I have a 1989 Video 8 handycam Product # CCD-F45 SONY it have corrupted interior mirco chips. I had it repaired locally for temporary use. It have stopped focusing so when I turn on the camera it has wavy lines and I can not use my valuable super 8 tapes I have taken over many years. Can you make any suggestions like an attachment Consquently I can not see my valuable tapes. Or is there a separate unit I can attach to my present camera.

The only option is replacement - the poor thing is worn out.

SOURCE: Faded image horizontal lines on pictures but LCD is normal.

I have the same problem with my DSC-F717. It started on Christmas eve. I contacted Sony and at first the said it was the CCD and a free repair, but I knew it didn't meet the criteria. The bottom line was that it was gong to cost $211.00 flat fee to repair it. Pleas let me know if you have any luck. PWilder76@aol.com

SOURCE: How do I hook up a Sony Handycam Video 8 CCD-TRV41 NTSC to view on television?

I still have my CCD-TRV41 and the manual intack. You will just need a audio/video cable (2-colored or 3-colored) to view your movies.

SOURCE: Sony CyberShot DSC-N2 - Unable to read memory card

Before anything else.... you must examine first if your card is not damage, How? Try to test it in the memory card readers or other camera that fit the same memory cards.
Some other cards do have lock option in the jacket of the card. Try to unlock it. After doing so reformat the memory card in to your cam.

Other option...... Some other cam do have internal memory, if you have the same, configured it out.

SOURCE: drivers for ccd-trv608 HI-8

This is the only solution that I have found that really works. The only problem is you need access to a computer running XP. On the Sony website they have drivers for XP. The XP drivers work for Vista, but vista will not let you install them normally. So on an XP computer goto the sony website and download the xp drivers and install them on the xp computer. Then all you need to do is go into your C: drive and there will be a folder called "Drivers" in that folder you will see the sony usb folder. Just copy it, onto a disc or thumb drive. then copy the folder to your vista computer. You can put it anywhere, I jsut put it on the desktop for easy access. Then plug in your usb cable for the camcorder, let it try to install, then it will give you an option to sellect the files yourself, browse to the folder you coppied onto your desktop and Viola, Vista will find the drivers and install them. you now can use the usb connection on your camcorder.

if you are having a hard time finding the files, email me and I will send them to you.

How do I get the sony handycam dcr-hc30ntsc to show me a pictuer wale recording or any thing

If camcorder does not show live view in view finder and lcd screen but shows good picture in play back of old recorded tapes then ccd imager chip is defective in camcorder and need to be replaced.
It is not user level repair as soldering work is needed to replace ccd imager chip.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

Sony Handycam CCD-TR64 cassette door won't close

Common problem with this mechanism. In order to fix the problem you will have to replace part called CHASSIS LS. Expensive repair, probably not worth the effort.

Where to get a professional head cleaning for my 8 mm camcorder

The best way is to locate a Sony authorized service center. A repair like this is usually a fixed cost of $150 or so. Sending it to Sony will result in a complete overhaul for the same cost, including any parts that are needed. The Sony website has a service center locator facility based upon your zipcode.
