8350i modem problem

I can not get my laptop to query my bb modem. It is listed under modems and I have desktop manager open. If I go to modems>properties>diagnostics>query modem it will not find it. I am using the bb software that came with the phone, so the drivers ''shouldbe correct''

Hi,

BlackBerry 8350i does not support "Phone as Modem" straight out of the box :(

Your best solution would be to try Shark Modem. It's a BlackBerry application that allows you to use your BlackBerry modem. 8350i BlackBerry Modem Application

Confirmed that the 8350i doesn't support modem > here

How do i transfer music from pc to bb curve 8300?

You can't put songs that you have bought from apple. You can put songs that you have riped from CD's or downloaded. You need a micro SD card. On the phone go into options: Advance Options, Media Card. Turn mass storage mode on. Now plug your BB into the computer and a little window will open up. open the Blackberry folder then music. Drop and drag your music files into that folder. if your going to use the Desktop software go to google and type: Blackberry Desktop Manager 4.5. This version comes with a media manager. http://crackberry.com/blackberry-desktop-manager-version-4-5-now-available Click on this link or copy and paste the complete link into your browser.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

BB Desktop Manager Error: Unable to Connect to device

I found this in a BB forum of tech guys. So no credit goes to me but it may help your problem

Go to Device Manager and click on RIM Handheld in other devices, as there is no driver but the device is still detected (may be listed under other devices too)

Double click on the RIM/unknown device

Choose re-install driver and select "Install from a list or specific location"

Then choose "Don't Search ...."

Select USB Controllers, hit next then browes to:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\USB Drivers
And select RimUsbNT.sys (may appear as an .inf file too)

Hit next and you’re done.

It will ask for a restart…go ahead and restart

Uncradle the BB

Soft reset the BB with the pin-in-the-hole trick (keep uncradled) (5min or so till it will be ready to recradle…) wait for the hourglass to disappear.

once you are logged back in as the user… recradle the BB and it should install is RIM handheld

Internate connection on pc

I assume you are trying to use the Blackberry as a modem and connect to your computer to connect to the internet. It is possible. All you need is a data plan from your servcie provider and the desktop manager software. In case your CD that came with the device is unusable, you can freely download the software from your service provider's website. Once the software is downloaded, run it and connect your Blackberry to the computer and then set the modem settings as detailed in the link below:

Using as a modem for laptop

You need to download the Communication Manager software from AT&T's Communication Manager website. Instructions from the website:
Download the latest Communication Manager software*Follow the steps below to download your free copy of Communication Manager software. You must have a subscription to an eligible data plan and use a compatible device. If using your handset as a modem, a tethering cable (purchased separately) or Bluetooth® functionality (available in select handset models) is required.
For detailed instructions on configuring Communication Manager with your LaptopConnect device, visit our device support site, select your device model, and follow the on-screen prompts to find detailed instructions on configuring your device for use with LaptopConnect.
  1. If you have an AT&T USBConnect Mercury device, download Communication Manager 6.8.104. If you have any other supported AT&T device, download Communication Manager 6.8.19 (THIS IS THE ONE YOU WANT). We recommend you download the Communication Manager software from an existing wireline internet connection. Wireless usage charges apply for wireless downloads.
  2. Choose "Open" (or "Run") to start the installation.
  3. Follow the on-screen installation wizard. After completing the installation, restart your laptop.
  4. After restarting your laptop, double-click on the "Communication Manager" icon.
  5. Connect your LaptopConnect card or handset to your laptop.
  6. Click "Connect" to connect to the internet wirelessly.

Good luck!

Go to your device manager in your laptop/desktop, then click on modems, then click on communications cable between two computers, then click on the modem tab and change the speed to 115200, then reboot (it doesn't say you have to but you need to). Change the speed in the casio communications to 115k and then sync. Reply With Quote
