Just go through it and delete everything left behind.

if you want to do a complete format and reinstall then you can use any A100 system disc (borrow one?) download one from the link below.
http://www.recovery-cds.com/laptop/product.asp?product=5396&ph=search&keywords=toshiba,recovery,cd,get&recor=1&SearchFor=any&PT_ID=all

With some Toshiba models you an burn a recovery DVD from the XP software. Look in programs/ accessories, system tools or use the built in HELP for any info

I just bought a laptop from the pawnshop and it has a password lock. how do you restore a computer to factory condition?

This laptop could have been stolen property, that is why there is a password lock.
I suggest you take it back to the pawn shop and get your money back.

Bought a gateway laptop fm pawnshop already locked. Need a code to unlock

The pawnshop should have the code as they bought the item. If they do a simple phone call should get you the information you need.
If they do not have the code report them for bad business as the laptop may have been stolen. (Why else would they not have access to the code?) Even if it was bought legit they sold it to you without a code to access you item. (Your not going to buy a locked safe are you?)
The only way I know to get past a locked computer is to reinstall the OS (Most likely Windows)
This is complicated and should only be done by someone who know how. There may bve other ways but I am not aware of them. Good Luck, and call that pawn shop!!!

How to reset my laptop

Look to the screen when its boot you can choose F1 F2 F10 F12.

before windows startup. If you choose F12 the software of HP Compaq will start instead of windows. Fallow the instrutcion from the HP
software.

This issue will set the Compaq Back to the origanal installation as in
the beginning when you buyd this product.

after the setup is ready and the laptop is running normal make recovery
disks you will need at least 2 DVD's when the systems software crasht
and there is no other option to start up then you can use the DVD's to
put the settings back as it was.

If it issen't posible go to HP on the inter net choose type of product
and buy recovery disk for the Compaq laptop.

I hope this will help you out.

I WOULD JUST LEAVE AND WRITE THE PASSWORD INSIDE THE CASE SOMEWHERE AND PUT PASSWORD FOR BOIS

No user password for hp dv9000

When seeing the log on screen of the user, press
CTRL, ALT and Del a couple of times untill a box appears asking for user name and password.
In user name type: Administrator and leave the password field blank, this should allow you to get on and delete that account.
Hope this helped

A full "factory restore" involves booting to the restore CDs (or hard drive sys restore partion, used by some manufactors) and following the manufactors instructions.
A Factory restore will result in all DATA being wiped, it really does mean "like the day it left the factory".

Bypass HDD password

From what I understand, the hard drive can be set with a password so the drive can't be used in any other computer or even opened if stolen. It is different from windows or bios passwords, and no password unlocker can open it.

You need to call the manufactor of the pc, and have all the information about the computer handy so it can be proven you are the legal owner. They are the only ones that I know of that might be able to reset or disable the HD password.

Hdd password reset

Hi,
Laptops have the option to password protect for security purposes. If the laptop should be lost-stolen. this is to ensure your personnal data, cannot be accessed by any tom dick and harry.
Post your laptop model number, and i,ll see if anything can be done.
i do not endorse password removal, as the majority of the time, a user cannot prove that the laptop actually belongs to them.
I,d also feel happier if you could also prove in any way, that you are the legal owner of the laptop in question.
