Problem for HP (DC132D) Modem

I have recently been given this laptop, and I assumed that it would have had an inbuilt modem. However when trying to hook up to the internet it states that no drivers are installed. Do I need to buy an external or internal modem, or is there another possible solution. Is it possible that the person who had this laptop before me somehow removed the internal modem or what? I am so very confused.

Any help would be grateful.

1.observe the laptop for any RJ11 socket (where you can connect your telephone cable).Most of the laptops are equiped with inbuilt modem.
2.go to specifications sheet of your model on www.hp.com
3.checkup the website for modem drivers for that model or you can find it at www.drivrers.com
4.basing on your operating system, download the drivers from above said sites and install them.
you could able to hook up internet.
