Question about Bosch 24 in. SHU43 Built-in Dishwasher

1 Answer

Our Bosch SHU43C Built-in Dishwasher sticks in the drying cycle.

Our Bosch SHU43C Built-in Dishwasher continues to run after the dishwasher has completed all of its cycles. The dishes are clean and dry, the timer reads 0 minutes remaining, and the "sanitized" light comes on, but we can still hear it running until we shut it off using the power off button. We have tried Finish Jet-Dry dishwasher cleaner (twice) on the recommendation of the Bosch people, who told my wife that the sensor may be getting fooled by a build up, but that did not fix the problem.

IFor right now, the dishwasher is working properly. A second treatment with Finish Jet-Dry dishwasher cleaner seems to have done the trick, knock on wood. Not right away, but a couple of runs later. I appreciate the feedback and will keep it in mind if the dry cycle acts up again.

I have the same dishwasher and started experiencing the same problem last week. It is now fixed (at least for the moment). Here's what I did first. I checked the drain pan under the machine for water(none), the heater for continuity(okay), the float for binding(none), and the float switch for proper functioning(okay). I tried turning the ckt breaker off for a couple of hours to see if that would reset the control module(no effect). I then dissasembled the front door and removed the control module. I had previously read about the common problem of a cold solder joint on the heater relay pin on the control board. My heater was working and the joint looked good but I resoldered it anyway. I reassembled everything and it worked perfectly! My conclusion is that it was either a cold solder joint that was somehow causing the problem or a connector issue that got resolved during my disassembly/reassembly. Hope this helps.

I have a guide here to walk you through the process of clearing the drain system. You most likely have a clog somewhere and the dishwasher can't proceed because it would cause it to flood.

If you have a Bosch shu4300...check this site.

My issue was a heater fault and fixed the problem by resoldering a bad joint. Works fine once this was fixed.

Bosch SHU43C installed in 2003

My Bosch SHU43C had the same exact problem. I found the below solution on this site. Perhaps you already seen it.

My SHU43C is just over 3 years old. I had a similar problem recently. First, there were a few floods. Then, the Bosch only drained non-stop. Even when I used the Cancel Drain buttons the drain pump would run without stopping. When I tried to run one of the cleaning cycles, no water entered the machine. Corrective: I removed the base plate, and saw that the red plastic floatation device was in the up position. Using a flashlight and a wooden spoon, I lightly toggled the red float stem down. I pushed regular clean cycle and kept toggling with the red float stem until the rinse water started to enter the machine (turning the red stem seems to also actuate a step in the program). Now the dishwasher runs normally. Voila!

Bought the display unit and water will not work.

hi there the low humming noise that you are getting sounds like the fill valve, this could be due to you perhaps not turning the water back on after fitting the new dishwasher or the fill hose being kinked when the dishwasher was put back ,hope this is of some help to you.

Sounds like the control module is out -- cost about $100 (I am on my third). I got a "lifetime" warranty when buying my second one. If you are handy, you can replace it yourself. You can call Bosch to confirm this (I did). It mounts inside the door. Mine is a BOSCH 5316.

The draining problem may mean a clogged drain hose -- you have to check it all the way back to either the main drain or the garbage disposal (if you have one). This may be what forced off the impeller wheel.
