How do you hook up an ipod to the cd player so it plays the ipods songs?

General answer for a general question...

Except your normal CD player has no inputs.

For just listening, any audio device with a headphone/earbud output can be connected to any available analog Line Level input (except PHONO) with a simple adapter. They don't tell you that in the manual because they want you to purchase expensive accessories like docking stations.

what your having is a power feedback,, Ipods are very low wattage,, the receiver however is much higher. the same thing happens when you hook an Ipod to a car with amps attached.

Speaker cuts out when ipod is hooked up to audio in port

try isolating the problem by inserting other sources such as tape deck, portable cd players, game consoles, if they work fine, test you ipod cable. next test you ipod on other audio in ports such as karaoke or other component stereos, ask a friend if he or she has one. test both, you may now have the idea where the trouble is.

Hook up patio speakers and use my cd/dvd/cable/ipod outside only

i'm not sure if this will work, but you could try connecting the rca stereo cables from you cable box to the cd input on the receiver those would be analog. then you could use the music channels at least. as for an ipod maybe sort of the same thing using an av cable instead of the dock;like i said i don't know if it will work but just a thought.

    Buzzer instead of radio

I have this radio too and from what I have read in a review on amazon suggests alarm does not tune to DAB only FM - very annoying! Contacted Goodman customer care and they suggested it was a problem with a component but maybe it is just the design.

    Hooking up ipod

THe easiest way to hook an iPod or any other personal audio player to almost any audio receiver is to pick up a cable having a stereo miniplug (like the plug on your earbuds) on one end, and two RCA plugs on the other end. You should be able to get this cable from almost any electronics or discount store for under $10. The miniplug goes in the iPod's earphone jack, and the RCA plugs connect to an unused input on your receiver. Inputs marked "AUX" or "CD" are a good choice, or even a "TAPE" input. Set the iPod to about 3/4ths volume and adjust the receivers controls for desired volume.
