Refrigerator does not get cold in upper (main) compartment. The little 1 1/2" x 3/4" hole in the wall between the freezer and refrigerator blows cold air into the lower meat draw just fine. And the freezer temperature is just fine too. However the unit at the upper most part of the main refrigerator compartment does not have any cold air flow coming out ot it (well perhapps 0.0001% airflow). Do I need to replace that part that is not allowing airflow into the main refirgerator compartment? If so, how do I remove it? Is that a thermostat? Is that an air flow (directional) valve? There appears to be a few tabs that need to be squeezed together; but I can't seem to figure it out.

Unless specifically made for use in a garage most units won't work properly. The owners manual should say what the temp range for proper operation is (usually 55F is the low range). This is because the refrigerator section doesn't need to be "cooling" to maintain 37F if the temps on the outside are below 55F. These things are made to work in a 70F room and will not work properly if under 55F. Stupid thing thinks it's cold enough so it will never turn on, the refer section will stay cold/cool due to outside temps but since the compressor never runs the freezer will just be the same temp as the refer section (at best). Sorry, but in order for a freezer or refrigerator to work in an unheated space it must have the temp control device controling the freezer section NOT the fresh food section. In other words, that model will not work in a garage unless the temps are above 55F always.

if the flap was open then truely excessive cold air is coming out/escape from the freezer causing no freezeing. you need to defrost your fridge.
Note also that frost build up increases time to freeze your food on the freezer. it also causes your fridge an increase in electricity consumption.
defrost your fridge for some time ti remove the frost build-up.

had same exact problem - followed advice for fixing same problem in similar refrig. took of the back panel off the freezer section - 8 hex head screws - and found the cooling fins all frosted over.
fan won't start by itself.

Check the damper in the top back of the fresh food section. make sure that it is open and air is coming through it.
