It's not the OS. This problem occurs before the boot sequence for the OS is loaded. Anyone giving advise should know this!

This is a SATA BIOS problem. The only way to fix problem is to upgrade Bios which has the SATA HDD fix. The bios doc says there is a sata error problem.

1. I tested startup with SATA HDD attached, got error.
2. 1 tested with NO SATA HDD but SATA burner attached, got error.
3. I tested with NO SATA hardware attached, NO errror. Booted until where it said no HDD attached as it normally would.

Acer support doesn't have a fixed bios only RO1-B1.
Aspire SA80 came out with bios RO1-B4 v2.3

Aspire SA80 uses a Elitegroup (ECS) 661GX-M7 mobo. They have a v3.0 bios, i have downloaded it but winflash won't install it. I will try loading thru awardflash on a bootable floopy.

Don't buy pre-build computers. D.I.Y only

It is on your os problem. Insert your OS installer. You don't have to install a fresh copy but you can repair your previous OS installation. Make sure you have set your boot sequence to CD, floppy and last HDD. You can now reinstall your drivers after doing that.

yes sir os(Operating System) e.g Windows XP, Linux, Ubuntu and etc. If you have a CD of that, Reinstall it or Repair it using your Operating System installer.

Hi,
if you want to reinstall OS:
Insert the disk, it should automatically open the install.exe thing and you'll need to follow the instructions.

if you want to restore the computer to factory settings and reinstall OS:
turn off your PC
keep pressing the key for boot menu it's F8 or F12 or F11 depending on the PC's manufacturer.
Then there will be either a boot menu or a "Do you want to do a system restore":
a) system restore, keep pressing the key and it will load. Then follow the instructions
b) if it's boot menu, insert the disk, and then select the option which says to load from the CD/DVD. Then follow the instructions.

How do i clean my computer up with the recovery disc?

The procedure is to insert the disk ..and restart and boot from CD ..If the boot order is already set to boot from CD first ..it will prompt you to press any key to start ..or ..you will need to press F11 or f12 to choose from the menu ..either the recovery will start when you choose f11..or if you choose F12 you have to select the boot from disk drive ..and hit enter ..Confirm by pressing any key and will start ..select the complete reinstalling of the operation system ..and if it asks ..select the C drive and format it if it asks ..
If the recovery disk you have does not contain the operation system but just the recovery for the drivers.you need to install the operation system first from a bot-able disk with the operation system on it ..and the procedure is the same ..Insert disk ..select F12 on start to get to the boot menu .select cd /dvd drive ..and hit enter..when asked ..press a key to confirm the action ..and go with the installation progress and follow instructions ..
The steps in both cases will be the loading of the primary files ..after that the agreement with microsoft ..and will show previous OS ..choose not to repair but new installation ..and select a partition ..(same on C drive ) ..and will ask if you want to keep files or replace ..I suggest not to keep anything and erase the drive and format it in NTFS quick ..and go on..It will load the files..for windows..and restart and this time you do not need to press a key ..but let it continue and finish the job ..
Those steps are for installing from os disks..and some of them will not be present in installing from recovery ..With the recovery disk things will go on automatically ..
Let me know if you have questions ..have a nice day !

Press F12 right after you turn the computer on, this should give you boot options, select boot from CD, press OK and you may get a prompt displayed to "Press Enter To Boot From CD" You should be good to go from there. I hope this helps. Good luck and have a pleasent day.

Windows wont start. dont know how it happened.

Does F2 mean to enter setup or does F12 mean to enter setup, Press the particular key on the keyboard to enter setup and Go to Exit using your up-down keys on the keyboard (it varies with different motherboards) and go to Load Optimized Default then Yes and press F10 - Yes and it will automatically restart the system, b2.jpg if both are not displaying anything to do, restart the system and press Delete button and follow the same instructions as mentioned above. (If the BIOS screen is similar as displayed above, then just highlight the Load Optimized Default using your Up and Down Keys on the keyboard {Y for yes, Enter for OK}).. It's will boot from the hard disk as default not from the CD-rom..Good luck...

Computer wont load up

If you can open you system than what you have to do is just to unplug the hard disk power cable and data cable and refit is properly and than start your system. This will definately help you unless your system is not effected with virus.
