Question about Apple iPod touch

1 Answer

Ipod touch battery

I have an ipod touch and I can't seem to find anything online that will help me with this problem. I plug it into my laptop and the battery icon comes up with the charging icon, not long after that the icon changes to what looks like a plug inside the battery icon. I never really lose battery even though it gives me the error message that it is 20% low. I still plug it in but it happens everytime, I don't know what to do or think.

Thank you

Have you tried a factory reset (in itunes, while your ipod is plugged in, click on the ipod touch icon to the left, then go to general, and go to "reset ipod to factory settings" or something similar)...this will only erase what is on your won't affect your itunes. also, if you already tried reseting it and still not could get the 2.0 firmware's about $10 dollars to upgrade to that though (i'm not a fan of apple...especially not now) you can get the upgrade directly from the apple website here try those solutions. also make sure you have the correct drivers installed..which would be ..and if those don't work, i would call apple and talk to them about that issue..if it is still under warranty, you should be fine to have it replaced (or if you bought it somewhat recently) and if'll have to sharpen your voice to a almost threatening tone and apple will most likely give in and either replace it or give you money.. ((i called them when i got an ipod video 30 gig, and 1 week later they released the 60 gig for the same price as the i called them and yelled at them alittle bit...they gave me $50))....i hope this has helped....oh and do you have a mac or windows? is it 1st generation ipod touch or 2nd generation (very thin is 2nd generation)? also make sure the drivers are up to date (if your computer is connected to the internet, open itunes and plug in your ipod, it should tell you if you need new drivers...if not, you're good)

When I plugged it into my own itunes, not only is it not showing up but the computer is telling me to enter my passcode but my ipod isn't giving me that option.

That is because the passcode-lock works to prevent iTunes from doing/modifying anything on your iPod touch.
Learn how you can bypass that and proceed to restoring your device on iTunes and eventually be able to use it again by reading the guide on the link below:

My son's 16gb ipod touch went through the washer. It seems to be dried out and we re-loaded everything from itunes but it doesn't power up unless the power cord is plugged in. Could it be the battery??

Seems to be a generic issue here, the probable reasons why the ipod aint playing are: 1) the battery must have been discharged 2)battery destructed due to short-circuit
Possible solution: 1) Allow the ipod to get charged for about 3 hours, then try playing 2) If 1 does'nt work try changing the battery from apple store Hope this helps

Every time i plug ipod touch into my laptop it wont recognise it and also wont charge (laptop switces off when you plug ipod in)

firts make sure that your laptop is plugged into the wall, (if not the ipod drains the battery of the laptop jeje) then download the drivers for the ipod touch BEFORE you plug it in again...then plug in the ipod and try again....also make sure you have itunes so you can see if it recognizes your ipod.
