Hello, your VGA Cable, HDMI Whatever cable you use to make your monitor show screens, you must make sure the VGA (only) is securely secured into the socked and screwed in, sometimes the little rods inside may be bend and this can cause this to occur. HDMI cables may not work do to it being broke ect. Same with VGA.

PC is not communicating with the monitor.

Are you using the DVI or VGA cable? You might try the other if both are supported by the computer. With the VGA cable, it's quite easy to bend the pins within the plug. Unplug the cable and look at both ends to see if the pins were bent during insertion. If so, you might be able to straighten the pins with needle-nosed pliers. The carefully plug in the cable again.

Hp 1907w monitor locking up

Go into the monitor menu and choose factory reset....Make sure the resolution is set correctly. (see here.)
You might want to run My Display, or install it if you haven't (See here)
Make sure the latest drivers for your os are installed. See here and here., and this tutorial for updating your video card or graphics adapter.
I've seen some reports in the forums about sleep problems on these, but the cause could easily be the pc. If you can, switch monitors to confirm the fault to be with either the pc or the monitor, and try the monitor on another system...
That's all I can offer you right now, as the HP site seems to be having trouble this evening...

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

Hp computor says check cabel

if your connected to the modem or router via a cable, check to make sure there are no kinks or bends in it, if there is straighten it out the best you can, if it's tightly coiled up, loosen it up, let it lay down on it's own naturally and work with it that way, sounds like it's got sharp bends and kinks in it....good
