How to solve the acer monitor black screen orange stand by light issue

Hello, your VGA Cable, HDMI Whatever cable you use to make your monitor show screens, you must make sure the VGA (only) is securely secured into the socked and screwed in, sometimes the little rods inside may be bend and this can cause this to occur. HDMI cables may not work do to it being broke ect. Same with VGA.

Hi,
Are you sure it went to sleep or just went dark

I had exactly that problem and it turned out to be a backlight problem

I had to dismantle the monitor and look for dry solder joints on the cards and now its OK

Hp 1907w monitor locking up

Go into the monitor menu and choose factory reset....Make sure the resolution is set correctly. (see here.)
You might want to run My Display, or install it if you haven't (See here)
Make sure the latest drivers for your os are installed. See here and here., and this tutorial for updating your video card or graphics adapter.
I've seen some reports in the forums about sleep problems on these, but the cause could easily be the pc. If you can, switch monitors to confirm the fault to be with either the pc or the monitor, and try the monitor on another system...
That's all I can offer you right now, as the HP site seems to be having trouble this evening...

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

for the hp x1907 we purchased recently there is no release it is just really hard to straighten, it has to be tight because you wouldn't want a wobbly stand

Monitor connector bent pin

It is quite easy to straighten these pins, however the pins are quite brittle, and do not suffer bending too many times (they just snap) Does this cable unscrew at the monitor end? if you have straightened the pin on the cable but are worried that it may be a little weak on that end, swap the ends of the cable round and use the other end to plug into your computer (as it will be stronger) Also if the cable unplugs at the monitor end it can be replaced with a cable of the same type, available from most computer stockists, just take the broken cable with you for comparison Gareth
