I need to delete music off my mp3 player

I want to add all new songs to my mp3 player but it does not have a deletion option on it. how do i get rid of the old songs to put new songs on it? i also have an iPOD that is not recognized in my iTUNES or on my pc. it has a large battery icon on it when i plug it into the computer then it shows a sad iPOD with an exclamation point. how can i get it to work again? i tried the support and troubleshooting on the Apple site.

YOUR NOT GOING TO HAVE THE OPTION ON THE MP3 PLAYER, YOU WILL HAVE THE OPTION WHEN YOU LOAD IT TO THE COPUTER. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS RIGHT CLICK ON THE SONGS THAT YOU WANT REMOVED AND SELECT DELETE. I HOPE THAT WORKS FOR YOU. THE IPOD ISSUE I HAVE NOT CLUE SORRY

I was well aware of this before but for some reason every time i get a new mp3 player my computer erases the configuration ad replaces it with a useless one that only allows me to either delete every song at once or just play the songs with i tunes and i dont want to delete every song i have.

Deleted songs still on mp3

To delete songs from your device follow the steps below
You have to make sure that the device is on MSC mode...then make sure your device is plug in to the computer..Then go to programs - accesories - windows explorer, find the SanDisk in my computer, go to media, music and delete them from there.
Either under sync panel in your windows media player it will show your music when it's connected. just click the plus signs for what song you need to get rid of, right click and click delete.
To format it..on your device..go under..menu, setting and there should be a format option option there..let me know if that doenst work for you...
Hope this helps

Will not hold the music I download

My problem was that I was deleting the existing library list in my computer when I attempted to add more songs to the MP3 player. I thought since I had already downloaded them to the MP3 player, that I could get rid of them from my PC's Media Player's library. The new songs I tried to add, would override the old songs stored in the MP3 player. Apparently you have to continue to store all the songs in your PC's library, and then when you add more songs you can transfer only the new ones to your MP3 player. A guy at my work told me this.

I found the best way to delete your mp3; go to start..find you device in "my computor" it will be a generic drive. right click and go to "format" click and it will prompt you to delete "playlist".."audio" or "music". However it will erase everything on your mp3 and allow new downloads. if you want to save some files; Plug mp3 in usb port..you will get prompt to define which system to play files. I use realplayer. scroll down until you can select "rca (G)" click "view" your mp3 will load and display all songs..you can then select and delete any or all, right click and choose option. To load; choose burn/transfer scrool down on the leftside to rca (G) and you can choose from you music menu ( I suggest making a playlist first to indentfy what songs you prefer, you can always add more from all music menu. add any files that you like until full. depending on song generally about 50 to 65 son on the 512 model. Do not worry about too many songs.. NO harm....they just won't fit.... I hope this help anyone with this problem

you should be able to explore your mp3 player in my computer, and explore each folder but when the windows are open click at the top files, options, view and select show hidden files as the mp3 songs already on the player may be hidden.
