If the unit is not picking up paper, that means that the rollers need to be clean. Take a damp cloth with a bit of dishwashing detergent on it. clean all the roller that you see. (make sure that the cloth is very damp) Let me know.

Also, is it giving you an error message?

You can also try using a rubber eraser as the rollers are going. Just take a pencil and lightly rub along the length of the rollers as they are feeding. This should remove the film that clogs the rollers surface.

Paper not going through feeder paper going off to one side of printer

Usually this is caused by a piece of torn paper occulding the paper path. or a shiny area on the paper feed rollers.

1) for paper jam: Use a peice of stiff card and place it in the printer use word pad to print a single full stop and that will start the card to begin to roll through the path. apply some push to it to keep it straight in the effort to snag that paper and have it ppushed out of the rollers

Yse a plastic polly mit and run over rollers to slightly roughen them and remove the ink shoine on them, especially the side that has the problem.

Feed a new piece of paper into the printer and check that it is now printing correctly

PAPER WONT GO INTO FEEDER STRAIGHT-GOES WONKY

One of the feed rollers may have ink or some debris on it. Get a lint free cloth and put some alcohol on it and clean the entire roller set, all the way around if possible.

Not grabbing paper

Try cleaning the rollers again and fan the paper. When you clean the rollers, use alcohol and a lint free cloth. Don't put too many sheets in the feed tray.

Loading Paper Error Pixma MP170

Your feed rollers are either dirty or worn at some point. Try cleaning them with alcohol on a lint free cloth. Make sure you clean the entire circumference of the roller, or at least half of it.

Paper Screws up

No need for pictures, sounds like a very small missed paper jam. You need to get a torch and tweezers and go right into the printer near rollers, paper feeder, and down the back where paper feeds in, my bet is you will find a small piece of paper or a foreign object in there somewhere, regards lilacgerry
