Yes get a program called "any dvd" I use it in all my machines, it will allow you to play anything on your machines. it's made by a company www.slysoft.com , it is very cool and you will be able to play every region coded or decoded disks anythig, have a good day. if you do a google search, I have even seen it being given away, but it's not expensive, And it lasts forever with updates , and it does blue ray. and HD

It may have a recovery partition still. If so follow these instruction. There is also a recovery disc order form.

My acer aspire 6930g notebook has very bad sound through it's speakers. It's been back to acer 4 times but no solution. The last time they told me that they are waiting for a patch as there is a problem...

My sound is far too low on occassions, even with the volume ramped right up. Annoying as I bought it for its 'dolby home theatre' features... wanting to use it as a DVD player for when travelling. Sorry, can't solve it.... but at least you're not alone. Incidently I'm on VISTA.

I have a aspire 6930 laptop from acer it will boot past post but not into windows not even in safe mode it just goes to green bar like windows is starting then blue screen with error stop:oxoooooo7b...

id reinstall vista ! if you want to do this you need to get in to the bios which u press F2 i believe when the comp first starts up when your in the bios scroll along to boot menu u shud see a boot list with your hard drive at the top ,you need to change your dvd drive to the top so itll boot from dvd , restart your computer with a windows vista disc in the dvd drive and i think it shud give you an option to fix your system if doesnt work then definitly do a clean install of vista using your product code . hope this works

I cant get blue ray o my aspir acer 6920

Assuming everything was working before you switched Operating Systems, the problem is likely that you still have the drivers for the previous OS. You should first make sure the old drivers are uninstalled by going into Device Manager, right clicking on the drive, selecting properties, going into the driver menu, and uninstalling them.

Then you need to find the Vista drivers for the drives (either go to the manufacturer's website, or just Google the model of drive you have) and install them. Make sure you restart your computer afterwords.

Acer aspire 6920 18.4 inch screen! I cant get blue ray dvds

According to the ACER Aspire 6920 specs, it does not have a Blue-ray player only DVD CD R/W drive. Therefore it cannot play blue-ray movie disks.
The specs of the DVD drive are as follows :-

  • CD / DVD read speed 24x (CD) / 8x (DVD±R) / 6x (DVD±R DL)
  • CD / DVD write speed 16x (CD) / 8x (DVD±R) / 4x (DVD±R DL)
  • CD / DVD rewrite speed 16x (CD) / 6x (DVD-RW) / 8x (DVD+RW) / 5x (DVD-RAM)

Acer Aspire 6930 won't play Blu Rays

Your DVD is not Blue Ray capable. You would need to purchase a Blue Ray DVD player for your laptop, just having the software does not allow you to read them.
