Question about Hyundai ImageQuest L90D 19" LCD Monitor

Theft deterrence window

I received a nice Viewsonic VP930b on XMAS day. On Decemeber 28th (today) I turned it on and 10 minutes later this window popped up saying This computer is not authorized for use with this LCD display. Please use the perfect suite program to disable the Theft Deterrence feature. Note this is a window brought up by the monitor, not the computer. Unfortunately PerfectSuite requires a pin that I supposedly entered when I turned turned on theft deterrence (which I did not) so I am stuck with this window. I called Viewsonic Tech Support and they are mystified and escalating the issue. Has this happened to anyone else out there? Do I have to ship this sucker back? Thanks, Marc Fuller P.S. If words are mispelled it's because it is difficult to read what I am typing throug the theft deterent window. Can anyone tell me step by step how to disable this **** on myHyundaiL90DP monitor? I unhooked my pc to move it from oneroom to another andnow this pos thinks it has been stolen! No lame suggestions about downloading drivers please. Did that and also deleted Imageview sw and reloaded but no help. Thanks in advance

SOURCE: Theft Deterrence Mode

Ok, solved it! I plugged the monitor into another computer and got the same message. I then installed the imagetune software followed the prompts and then had to restart, when it restarted it went into countdown mode to enter the pin #(which you need and I had). As soon as I entered it tada!!! Put it back in my original computer figuring it would give me the countdown again which it didnt, I found that odd. One thing I should have done is disabled this feature while it was hooked up to the other computer because I still cant access that part on my computer.

SOURCE: gateway sheild theft mode display and everythings blk+white

I had the same problem with my 30 inch and figured out how to fix it without going through Gateway or using EZTune....There shuold be a reset button on the main board inside the monitor. While the power is on push and hold that button for 3 seconds and that will stop that theft mode! For my board it was SW1 (Switch 1)

2000 grand am security light comes on can i bypass that with remote start

Are you the one who bought the vehicle new ? Replaced ignition switch or the ignition lock cylinder ? No , sorry, but a remote start will not by pass anti-theft system .

The vehicle theft deterrent system is designed in order to prevent vehicle theft by disabling the fuel injectors unless the lock cylinder is correctly engaged by a mechanical key. The theft deterrent system uses the following 4 components for theft prevention:
• The lock cylinder
• The ignition switch
• The body control module (BCM)
• The powertrain control module (PCM)
When starting the engine, the PCM searches for a password from the BCM through the Class 2 serial data circuit. If the password is not recognized or not present, the PCM will disable the engine. Two modes of tamper detection are provided:
No password received
The engine will start and stall quickly. SECURITY telltale will flash on the instrument panel cluster (IPC) and then stay ON steady.
Incorrect or disable password received (More than 3 invalid passwords are received)
The engine is disabled for at least 10 minutes and the SECURITY telltale will illuminate solid on the IPC during the 10 minutes.
After the vehicle has passed theft detection, the PCM will continue normal operation.

I removed my alarm system keystartremove n now want start 98 old cultass 3.1 engine

You can't do that an expect the vehicle to start , software programmed in the computer system . If the engine PCM doesn't see a pass word or coded message from the BCM or anti-theft module . IT will disable starting and or fuel injetor control .
Important: Due to component variability, the vehicle theft deterrent (VTD) system must have the learn procedure performed regardless, if the vehicle starts on the first ignition cycle after a VTD repair.
All codes in the theft deterrent module must be cleared for a relearn.

They do sell by pass modules you can find on the internet , in some cases it cheaper to have it fixed proper by a qualified repair shop . It just depends what the original problem was . You how ever just complicated matters by changing thing's .

I have a 2202 Impala. Three weeks ago I attempted to start my car, nothing happened. No click,buzz..nothing. For about ten minutes I jiggled the key, put the key in and out of the ignition several times...

Yes, this your anti theft security failing. Its having a hard time receiving the transponder signal from your key. When it doesnt get this signal, it turns off the starter to prevent theft. It basically thinks its getting stolen so it shuts down. The problem is in the diagnoses. It might be the key, the ignition/lock cylinder, or the TDM computer itself. (Theft Deterrent Module) All are expensive and pointless to fix. Your cheapest route is to bypass the whole system and never worry again. The average life on these systems is 6-10 years. Here is a link with info and some DO IT YOURSELF ways to beat this. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

My monitor dont come on, and green light flashng, viewsonic vp930b.

If your ViewSonic LCD monitor has stopped working with a blinking green power button, It typically means that there is one or more failed capacitors in the monitor. It would be best to send the monitor in to Viewsonic for service or to purchase a new monitor.

My car won't start. It sounds like it wants to turn over, but doesn't. I had a mobile mechanic come out and troubleshoot the problem. He hooked some type of reader to my car. Two codes came up. "P1631...

You might try to reset the computer. Here is the way you do it.

Turn the key to the ON position.
Then press the gas pedal all the way to the floor and let all the way off 3 times.
Then turn the key off. The next time you turn the key on it will have reset the computer. Not too sure if it will reset those codes. But it is free and worth a try!

Hope this helps you!!! If so please check YES! Thanks!

My 01 chevy malibu theft deterrent light is on and my car wont start or let me get my key out of the ignition what can i do?

turn the key to the "acc" position. you will notice the theft light flashing. leave the key in this position for exactly 10 minutes. the light should stop flashing. turn the key back to the off position and then start the car as you normally would. Works every time!

No true black appears to be available

Try this:

Turn the monitor on. Make a background picture of a black and white checkerboard pattern.

Press and hold the 1, up and down buttons. A small icon will eventually show on the display and the monitor will do a white ballance.

It can be hard to get the monitor to do this sometimes. Just keep trying until it works.

Note, you should open the monitor and look at the caps in the power circuit. They may need to be replaced. Better now than later.

Theft Deterrance system

If you ever have this problem but cannot get to the 'extras' button, leave the computer on that (hopefully) already has the eztune software installed, pull the power on the monitor (the cord, not just press the power button) and then plug it back it...it should unlock automatically. It ticks me off that I just got off the phone with gateway tech support and they wouldnt tell me that because my monitor is 'out of warranty'...purchased 4/8/08 and problem today 7/15/09...bums. Anyway, they offered to fix for a fee. I got it fixed.
