No particular problem with your unit. In your case it appears that the fan isn't operational - open the laptop and replace it.
Also check in the BIOS the shutdown temperatures, they might be set way too low.
Subscriber/user FMFM85 had posted a solution for another laptop that worked for me. That was Power down, remove battery, remove power, wait five minutes, plug in power and do not install battery, I rebooted to last known good configuration. This method got me further along.from the absolute DEAD state the laptop was in. Now I know that the laptop is really hosed in other ways. I will keep you posted.
It appears that your #2 hard disk has died. To test if it is faulty, remove the #2 drive and connect it to an USB hard drive adapter and plug it into the USB port of a working computer. If the computer see it as an external USB drive and you can see the folders and open the files, then it is OK and the fault is possible the disk controller.
If the hard drive is not recognised then it is faulty and needs to be replaced.
I believe with Toshiba they normally would give you a recovery disk and then a drivers and utilities disk as well. The F15 and G15 series Laptops (which we both have), have an Out-of-Warranty fix (for free). This is not normal, as you may know. The reason it's free, the motherboard is defective... I just called today and they're still replacing the motherboard for free!
Go to the Toshiba website and call their Tech Support number. They'll tell you it's out of warranty and they're going to charge you, just ignore all that. When you get your foreign tech support person on the phone, tell them you've read that the F15 and G15 series were defective and were being replaced free (even without warranty). They'll get your product number of the laptop, process the order, ship you a box (pre-paid shipping), you ship the laptop to them, they fix it, they ship it back, you're back in business!
If the discs are clean and pretty much scratch free, then this is most likely a bad hard drive. If you have another PC or laptop, try burning copies of the recovery cds and then use those. If the problem remains, you will need a new hard drive.

no cost to you regardless of warranty. This is a bad batch of computers.
