The heat exchange on my AQ 125-BNG is green does that mean it was leaking?

I had just got this water heater due to the failure of my prior 80 gallon water heater, Bought it used, And happened to notice a green color on the copper heat exchange, Does that mean the pipe ruptured and I should take it back to the guy I purchased it from or just typical wear and tear?

Er3 flashes hot water will not reach set point

Had this happen to me before, if you have hot water from the boiler going in and out of the boiler mate and the temps are not rising within the hot water means more than likely you may need to remove exchanger and clean sediment off element, basically sediment creates a blanket over the heat source causing poor thermal conductivity. Things to check before removing heat exchanger

- outlet temp of boiler water to aquamate -inlet temp of boiler water to aqua mate= 20-30'F if low then bad thermal transfer or poor water movement
-make sure sensor is reading properly
- get boiler temp higher to speed up thermal gain in water heater

I have a aqua star 125 bng-l ser 9650617 the only way i can get water hot is by turning on the shower annd the bathroom tap on?

These type of heaters require a minimum amount of water flow. If your showerhead is the most common flow-restricting type then perhaps it is not permitting the minimum amout of gallons per minute to flow through the unit for it to remain engaged. You might have to try removing the flow restrictor :(

Tankless water heater pilot light will not stay on

It is most likely the water valve stuck open, telling the controls to heat water, that it thinks is flowing through it, but without actual flow it overheats. Depending on how comfortable you are with taking it apart yourself, you could open the valve to see if it just needs cleaned out, or if you have a ruptured diaphragm or some other cause.
