Question about Nintendo GameCube Console

1 Answer

We purchased a used game cube, they gave me a power cord, and the cord that has the yellow, white and red plugs. When I hook this up the the tv I get the sound and not a picture. Since this is a tv/vcr combination tv, I have tried different channels, tried vcr (this is where I get the sound) and nothing works, am I missing a cord?

How to hook up the wii cords

First, you are posting a question about the Wii under the PS2 heading. Problem number one! Number 2! If your TV is new enough, it might not have the connections for A/V jacks like the yellow red and white. Here is how they connect. Yellow, video, Red, right sound, white, left sound(mono)

Hook up to the Wii

Alright so first of all, you should have gotten a cord with a big, grey power brick attached to it. Plug the end in that goes in a outlet, and the other end should hook up to one of the outlets on your Wii console. Then, there should be a cord with three branches. They should be colored red, orange/yellow, and white. On the back/front or on the cable box for your TV there should be plug-ins that are colored either red, white, green, blue, or orange/yellow. The specifications should be written under the outlets (visual, audio, etc...). Plug the white and red part of the cord in to the "audio" outlet (on your tv). The other cord (yellow/orange) should plug in to the outlet that is labeled "video" or "visual" or "screen" or something along the lines of that. The next step is pretty simple. Your Wii (should have) came with a sensor bar. It is thin, long, and black and has a very long, very thin cord attached to it. Plug one side of the cord into your Wii console, and the actual sensor bar goes on top of your TV. There are small, sticky rectangles that help with the sensor bar sticking to your TV. After you've done all that, your Wii is ready to go! Just push the power button and your ready to start playing!

I got a wii and tried to hook it up to my toshiba tv and when i turned on my wii it was black and white and im positive i have it set up correct or if its just the cords itself the colors are blue green...

Make sure the plugs EXACTLY match the jacks on the TV. If you plug just the green cord into the TVs yellow jack, you will get black and white. If your tv has a combo jack (uses the green of a component input, make sure that the tv is on the right input (COMPONENT and not VIDEO).

let me know.

I hooked the Wii up to a different tv than I had it on before. Now, it is in black and white and there is no sound. I am able to go into a game. What can be wrong?

I am guessing that you mistakenly plugged your Wii console cables into a component input section, rather than the normal AV or AV2 input. You can easily tell this by finding out which input station you have to select with your TV remote. If it is component 1 or 2 then your problem you plugged the cords into the wrong section. If you notice in the picture that the component are red, green, and blue, and the AV are red, white, and yellow. The Wii hook up cable is made for the Red, White, and Yellow. Just use a flash light and make sure you are plugging them into the right spot.bagdad319.jpg

ok it should all go into your tv ok? and there should be a row of yellow white red or any order (ON THE FRONT). you should look on the back of your tv or side for alot rows of inputs and each row should be for an different input on your tv like input 1 2 3 4 5 6? you follow? so just match the colors up on the back or side of your tv or front do not hook it up to your cable box..........Ahh i see the cable box is using the yellow one well maybe unplug that while your playing or there would prolly be other (RED WHITE YELLOW) on the back of your tv like i said or on the side

Nintendo game cube

its quite easy to install a game cube on the TV..
from the gamecube all cables have their slots to fit in. then, those cables you have to plug them to the tv, i think you have RCA cables which are 3 jack cables, red, yellow and white.. the red is to plug it in the red side of the tv, that is for sound, the yellow is for video, and the white one its not too necessary to install so dont worry about that..

i hope that helps...
