Question about Brother XR-35

Open Question

Needle holder fall off machine (Borther XR-46)

This is my wife's machine and she has been unable to use it because the needholder no longer stays attached to the machine.  I noticed that there is a "pin" that seems to provide the friction to attach the holder to a rod hanging down from the machine, but when I try to include it, the holder will not fit on the rod.  A couple of times I was able to get the holder and pin over the rod, but it fell off again after a second or two of use.  Looks like the "pin" may be a little bent and perhaps that is the problem.  I'm looking for either how to fix it myself, how to get another pin that is straight (if that is the problem), or where to take it.  Seems like someone that knows sewing machines (my grandfather was a tailor and spent 30 years on the machines in Brooklyn/Manhatta) would take a couple of seconds to fix it.  I'm all thumbs.

SOURCE: needle clamp won't attach to needle bar

There is a set screw above the needle pin screw which tightens with an allen wrench--try that.

The needle holder has a screw right above the screw that holds the needle in place. It really doesn't look like a screw because it does not appear to have a slot for a screwdriver. However, with a small flat head screw driver you can tighten it up. There is also a curverd wire that must be inserted into a slot at the bottom of the holder. The screw tightens against the wire that tightens against the post. (It's a curved wire that curves around the front part).

SOURCE: I have a Brother XR-65.

Hi

That's the needle clamp that fell off. Slip it back into place (make sure you have the 'front' facing forward) and while holding it with your left hand, use the screwdriver in your right hand to tighten the needle clamp screw . To tighten, turn it clockwise. Do not apply strong force when loosening or tightening the needle clamp screw, otherwise certain parts of the sewing machine may be damaged. If you look carefully you should see a small allen head screw on the needle clamp assembly. There should be a J shaped part which goes into a hole on the bottom of the assembly. Reassemble everything, put the assembly back on the needle bar and tighten the screw with an allen wrench:-

At the very top of the needle, there is a screw that points horizontally to the right. Loosen that screw and the broken needle should fall out.

the best thing would be to take the machine to a sewing machine shop & have them check to see what's wrong with the needle holder, cause if there's a something broken it will have to be replaced

Needle holder falls off, won't stay on. It's done this before but stopped for a while. I don't even see what holds it on there. I am so irritated with it.

My husband used a 5/64 allen wrench to reattach my needle holder. There is a small black set screw directly above the screw that you tighten to hold the needle in place. I just looks like a small black hole, but there is a screw in there. Use the wrench to tighten it and you should be good to go.
