IPod interface acting up

My iPod interface refuses to let me use the "search buttons." All buttons on the left are inactive except for "quick search" when pressing and holding. I have an ipod video updated with the most recent firmware. Mike

You can't use search mode while you have mix enabled. Make sure Mix mode is off

Ipod touch

Do you mean that your PD100 adapter doesn't recognize your new ipod touch?

If yes then i would suggest you to only use the adapter which has been given to you with the ipod touch.Do not use anyother one.If you don't have one it is better to buy another new adapter.

Hook up an ipod to this stereo

Get the Alpine KCA 420i adapter. I've had it for about 3 years and no problems. You can install the module anywhere and run the wire for the ipod just about anywhere. You can go through all of your ipod folders on the headunit. However, you will find out quickly that it can be a pain using the Alpine headunit interface tiresome on the CDA 9830 model and others similar from a few years back. I don't know if other head units have solved this issue.

Cda-9885 ipod not searching

I had the same problem. I got it resolved by making the MIX OFF. Just press the button number 5 to make the MIX (Random Play)ON/OFF. After the search you can set the MIX to ON. However set the MIX to off before you start any search every time.

Kenwood kdc-mp532u Auxiliary? - Manual

iPod Adapter Compatible: Using the KCA-iP500 iPod Control Interface, you can connect your Apple iPod digital music player to this receiver. The interface (item # 113IP500) plugs into the receiver's 13-pin CD changer input and controls the iPod through the receiver's controls, as well as displays the iPod's text information right on the receiver's display.

IPod Interface not working

That happened to me and the PFD Manual online said it means it's a communication error between the ipod adapter and the ipod. The ipod in my case was totally froze and I had to reset it using the hold on off then holding in menu and select for 10 seconds and it rebooted.

Ipod interface

The adapter was never made to work exactly like the Ipod. Thanks to Apple they have made it very difficult for many makers to recreate the way the stereo searches song to be like the Ipod. Use the scan button to change the way it seeks through songs. You can have it seek by Artist, Album, Genre and Playlist and this is changed each time the scan button is pressed.

Linking an i pod to a Sony CDX-MP40 using the bus input terminal

Some Sony head units let you use the Bus audio inputs as an auxiliary source input, but yours is not among them. To play your iPod through the head unit, you'll either need an iPod interface module: or an auxiliary input module: The iPod interface will allow you to control and display the iPod directly through the head unit, while an auxiliary input adapter will allow the iPod to play through the head unit using the iPod's controls and display.

Alpine CDA-9856. Search button for IPod will not bring up menu

I have the same problem with a CDE-9870R and my iPod. I tried my daughter's iPod, and it works. I did not search any further, but it may come from the iPod software version. Mine is more up-to-date than hers (5th generation iPod 1.1.2 2006-06-28 update).

Error message E-60

First, run a chkdsk (or scandisk) to your Ipod from your computer (like any other hard disk drive on your computer)since it is probable that the Ipod's hard disk drive may contain errors. Then, follow these steps: 1.) Disconnect the Ipod from the KCA-IP500(the Ipod interface) 2.) Press and hold the middle button and the top button at the same time. 3.) The Apple Logo should appear. 4.) Reconnect your Ipod to the KCA-IP500 5.) The head unit should display loading and then respond to the IPOD interface.
