Re: rca tv

Need a new Flyback installed or there is a whole in it. If you are handy turn off the lights and look at it with the lights off. see where the hole is and fill it with plastic epoxy.

When I turn it on, it makes a buzzy noise but nothing else., no picture or tv sound.

The set has a high voltage problem, "the flyack transformer is defective" It generates the high voltage in the picture tube and with the help of the video circuits it produces a picture. It is not cost effective to repair the tv, cheaper to replace.

Tv sparked and made noise and shut off rca model f32648

Looks like the projection is fried. I'm afraid you would have to exchange for new one if you can or purchase new Tube.

32 RCA makes popping sounds

It needs a new FLY BACK transformer. That is what you are looking at. The origionals are not made for the set any longer but insist on having a generic on installed by a local TV shop. I just put one into a RCA 31" and it works nice. Don't throw away the TV. Get it fixed. MAKE SURE YOU INSIST THEY USE THE GENERIC ONE! THEY DO WORK!

Your problem is flyback transformer cap is leak or tared due to ageing or rust. Since it is high voltage transformer your boyfried get shock. If you have technical knowledge or technical support just try the following process. Switchoff the tv and remove power chord from plug. Wait minimum 4hrs. Then remove the back cover clean picture tube and transformer cap with IP solution. After allowing 30mins dry switch on the tv. All the process will be done by service engineer only. Risk of electric shock.

Fuse blowout

Every time you put in that fuse and it sparks your probably causing more circuit damage as a fuse very very rarly goes bad for no reason.. Ok to the subject at hand. it you put back in a good fuse WITHOUT PLUGGING IN!! Next measure with an olm meter across the two legs on the plug on the end of the wire(the part you normally plug in.) Is there a short circuit?? yes? I would then start trouble shooting the front end of your main power supply like bridge recifyers, main b+ capacitor, the capacitor that goes across the ac line input as well as an VDR can short out in a surge. Now if that dosent get you anywhere your gonna need a schematic diagram. You can get that from howard sams photo facts. It available on line as a PDF for about 27.50. If you dont know what Im saying here then I really cant help you any farther and you will need to take the set to a quilified repair person as a tv even unplugged can hold 100's of volts. Now if you do know what your doing with solid state repairs by all means get the schematic and post it here for us to look at and we can assist you with this repair. Good Luck
