I have had this side by side for 8 years and have thrown away hundreds of dollars worth of food. I really just shop like a European today; going to the store almost daily for produce. Any help?

There is an internal door between the fridge and freezer section that allows the freezer air to enter the fridge side to keep the fridge cold. Sounds like the internal door is stuck open. Steve

I have a KitchenAid refr. mod. KSRL25FRSS00 it is turned down to the lowest setting and still freezes things in vegetable box. (new control board?)

Is your milk or eggs freezing? All the cooling in the refrig and freezer spaces is done in the freezer. Sometimes, the control labeled freezer temp controls a vent between the freezer and ref space, allowing air into the ref side. the other control determines run time. try turning thefrz setting up to raise the ref temp.

Whater dispensor is not working?

At the back of the fridge at the bottom there are solenoid valves. Unplug the fridge and measure the resistance. They should read a few hundred ohms. Most likely the solenoid for the water dispenser is burnt out so if you measure them all one should read open. Anyways you can't buy these solenoid individually. It comes as a set and cost over a hundred bucks. So I would measure the resistance first with a multimeter. Make sure the fridge is unplug!! when you measure.

Ge profile side by side is not dispensing water, have removed the line at door and there is not water coming out. What do I do next.

At the bottom of the freezer door ( remove the kick plate , 1 screw on each side ) , there will be a water line . Follow this line , about 6 " to a connector . Push in on the white ring and pull out the line , at the same time . Activate the water dispensor pad and see if water flows from the line under the refrig . If it does , then the line in the door is frozen . Either raise the freezer temp for several days , so the line in the door will thaw , or , I have heard using an air tank will blow the ice out of the line in the door . If no water comes from the line under the refrig , while activating the pad , then replace the water valve , behind the refrig , the piece the wall water line connects to on the refrig .
If the door line is frozen , GE has a dispensor heater , pt # WR49X10173 , to help eliminate the freezing of the line .

GE refrig/freezer dispenser makes ice, but no dispensing of water

The dispensor water line , is probably trying to freeze , inside the door . raise the freezer control slightly warmer , to keep this from happening . May take 2 or 3 raisings to find the proper temp . Also , you can order a dispensor heat kit , pt # WR49X10173 , which comes with installation instructions .

Icemaker is not working

Pour about 1/2 cup of water into icemaker . If it freezes and dumps , replace the water inlet valve . If it freezes and doesn't dump , replace the icemaker . Make sure the coils are clean of dust , lint , etc .. for refrig to be proper temp for icemaker to work (5 degrees) .

Our GE monogram refrig compartment is constantly below freezing.

2 possibilties most likely is a bad temp sensor it thinks its warmer in the refrig than it actually is. the next possibilty is a motherboard has gone bad in the unit.

I am not getting water to the dispencer the water goes to the

its possible that the water tank has frozen up inside your ref compartment. here is how to fix. remove teh lower veggie drawers and then look behind where the drawers were you will see either a water tank or a roll of plastic tubing. using a hair dryer heat the tank for a few minutes then try you water dispenser again. once you have it working just raise the temp of your refrig compartment to prevent future freezing of the tank. peyton

Fridge area freezing food; water dispensor line freezing

sometimes when the cooler weather comes in you may need to chnge temp setings to a warmer setting to prevent some items from freezing ie: leafy vegetables, water bottles, eggs, etc etc.

now if you are having total freeze up of everything in the ref section then you could have bad temp control or damper assy.
