Open machine look for an upright lever at the paper in side.... it is called a paper detection switch its function is to detect the position of the paper movement through the machine, if the paper does not trip the switch at the right time the machine will indicate a paper jam and shut down, most machines have this sort of detection system

Thanks for the above. And where the detection switch is located. I am about to go to the copier ands see if I can track down the switch.
I will get back to you if I was successful.

Cleared paper jam, but printer not responding

Did you shut power when removing the jammed paper. If you did not then you have forced the gears against the rotation and may have hurt the transport system

circuited.
4) Check if the conductor pattern on the LGC board is short circuited or open

5) Replace the registration sensor.
6) Replace the LGC board.

If YES:
Are the upper transport clutches (high/low speed) working?
(Perform the output check: 03-439, 440)

Paper Jam

Some basic non-tech questions:
  • Are you using paper that's been allowed to sit open for weeks? It might have absorbed water.
  • Are you in the habit of reusing paper that's double-fed? I used to, but it's more likely to jam
  • When was the last time the technician was in to do a preventive maintenance? The machine may need a basic clean-and-check.
  • Check your manual, and check what the machine is telling you (on the display, if it has one). The location of the jam may give you an idea of the reason for the jam (jamming at the fuser may indicate a cold fuser, jamming at the drum can be caused by broken separation fingers, etc.) If you have a technician, this will be useful information.
