I tried the lower left Fn key plus the key just beneath the Backspace key on the right of the keyboard this created the # key you need (this on a Satellite Toshiba laptop)

i also forgot to add that while your language may be uk the keyboard itself might be something totally different.so go to the control panel-select regional and language options-then select keyboards - change keyboard-add english uk.then delete the other keyboard that is already there..i hope this helps

When i press the 3 key and the shift key i should get a pound sign but I get a hash sign#

Hello,

Shift + 1 = !
Shift + 2 = @
Shift + 3 = #
Shift + 4 = $

I am assuming your keyboard is set to English USA. Go into control panel, regional settings and make sure everything there is set to UK but then also open Word, up to Tools on menu bar, down to language and check that it is English UK there also and set by default. If this does not work you will have to insert it from character map and add it to autocorrect feature.

Hope this helps. Kindly update me on the same.

regards
Sammy
