Question about SanDisk Sansa m230 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Several problems ive had the sansa m230 for a bit more than a year, but recently the screen has gone blank when ive been playing songs. it still keeps going, i can change and pause and everything, but it just wont show what im doing. but the most annoying problem is that my computer wont pick it up. it detects flash drives and everything else i stick in the usb port, but not the mp3 player. i tried disabling my antivirus, etc. but windows media player or the computer itself just wont pick up any signal. ive had this for a while and its starting to turn to crap. plus its only 512megs. ill probably get another player altogether. but any help on these problems would be appreciated

Re: several problems

These are notorious for dying in many ways like yours. The symptoms are a bit off, but just go out and the solution is to buy a new one! Problem solved! In the mean time, try bending the usb plug a bit towards the side with larger holes, and also try pushing the device in the center with some firm pressure. This has a history of restoring the broken connections a bit!

Sansa m230

The Music DB refers to the Music Database, or the Artist, Album, and Song info.

The error means your device is too full. It needs some free space on the device to create this information.

Connect your device to the PC and manually delete some files from it in My Computer>Device Name (m240)>MUSIC Folder.

It needs 6MB of free space, so you may need to delete several songs.

Disconnect the device from the PC, it should restart and you should be ok. If the message continues, keep deleting files until its gone,

Best of Luck.
