Hole in roof of oven - heat escapes into one of heating elements

Thanks, indeed this is the hole! And it certainly seems to be there by design, however it is a lot hotter at the right back burner than it has EVER been since we started using it 10+ years ago !!!

With the oven set at 300F, the temp at the right rear burner reaches 200F within 10 minutes (we put the oven thermometer over the burner to check) ....

Does this sound normal to you?

make sure the "duct work is in place and the burner has the correct pan. Another thing is make sure u have a good seal around the door there could be a draft causing a convection effect
I never actually measured the temp but I would suspect it does give off a good bit of heat. I never tried obstructing it with foil or anything before and not certain if that would be a wise thing to do either. I suppose a pan with water in it would slow down draft and water wd keep pan from baking.

Oven will not pre-heat properly

you might want to check where the thermometer is located on older models it can be knocked out of position perhaps to close to the roof of the oven which gives false heat reading

Whirlpool oven dony heat up to the temperture

You likely have an oven element that is burned out. The elements can be replaced. Determine which element is burned out and put your hand near the element with the door open to see if if is the bottom or top element that is burned out. Then go on the web to an appliance part sales company such as appliance parts.com. Enter your Whirlpool model number and do a search for heating elements.
Order one. When it comes, turn off the power to your oven. (go to your house power panel and turn off the breakers that feed the oven.) Back to the oven. Open the oven door and look at where the element comes out of the oven wall. Undo the two screws, pull the element out through the two holes in the oven wall an inch or two. If you find insulation coming out with the wires, push the insulation back into the hole so you can just see the attaching electrical wires. Find attached to the old heating element a electrical wire connector with wire going back on of sight into the hole in the oven cabinet, one for each element end. Unplug the connector. You may need pliers to wiggle it while pulling off. Reverse the installation. Plug the connectors on to the ends of the new element. Reinstall the two screws that hold the element to the wall. Turn the power back on to your oven. Give it a try. It should work and is the most common reason why your oven would not get up to temperature. Likely one of your two elements is burned out.

How do I replace the bottom oven element in a CDA CD 907 double oven

ISOLATE MAINS POWER BEFORE WORKING ON THIS APPLIANCE
Remove the back of the oven check temp controller before replacing or buying element, as this can often stop any heat being produced. The element is in front of the fan, if this model is fan assisted, remove fan, after removing element inspect to see any small hole in metal, if you see a large hole more than 10mm , this could be a sign that the fan needs cleaning. Clean fan with WD40, do not switch oven on untill fan has dried off. Then replace element, switch oven on low with door open, if you feel slight heat, go for a full test, gradually build up heat, keep on for at least 30 mins, make sure the oven reaches temp, you can expect some smell from a new element, this is protective oil, and considered normal.

Oven slow to heat. I had an appliance guy come and change the element, still slow. 1 hour to 300F. I can't find a service manual on this range.

This sounds like a problem with the oven thermostat. If a slow heating problem is reported the element can be the problem sometimes but generally it would be the thermostat which has complete control over the elements heating cycles. It sounds like you may need the thermostat replaced. I hope the the oven door seal it tight. This can cause problems if too much heat escapes through a faulty seal.

Creda topline duble oven. The single element of the upper oven is broken and its support from the roof is corroded. Can this be repaired?

The upper heating element can be replaced -- easy enough -- element costs $30 - $70.

Sheet metal can be installed over hole(s) in top and re-drilled for the element supports.

Typically, however, an oven which has holes in the liner is very old and will have other pending problems and should probably be replaced.

Oven takes approximately 35 minutes to heat up to 350 degrees.

if this is all the higher it heats, its one of 2 things, first the heating element could have a Hot-Spot on it somewhere(a dis-coloration) on the element and have a bubbly/pock marked area that ready to burn out and cont pass enough current to fully heat the element, number 2 it could be the thermocouple on the roof of the oven cavity that is bad and turning off heat before its to the heat you set,it looks like a long tube with a wire or smaller tube leading from it,its connected to the oven heat control and senses oven operating temp and cycles the heat on and off per your temp setting

Kenmore electrical oven

Trying to better define the problem....

Do you have any cuts, holes or "shorting" or tin-foil/aluminum around your bottom bake heat-element? If so, you may need to replace the baking Heat Element. (Ensure you do not use aluminum foil around your heat element to prevent your oven from getting dirty)

To replace your baking heat element, with power off; remove 2 screws securing the bake element. Slightly tug and pull towards you for about 3 inches or so and disconnect the connecting wires at each end. Then completely remove the heat element and install new in reverse manner. Whats' you're model number?

Bake element does not heat

After removing the racks, rack rails and the back plate I removed the 2 screws the hold the bake element. Lifting the front of the bake element up and carefully pulling the element out and gently moving the element so the connector clear the hole I was able to disconnect the wire. After testing for continuity with an ohm meter (non found) I determined the element need to be replaced. $37 and 45 minutes total.
