Need to unblock a firewall to pick up net flix wireless on my new visio tv how do you do this. it was something like a 80 443 code

80 and 443 are the port numbers,

80 is the default for internet
443 is the default for Secure Socket Layer Internet

There will be an option in your firewall settings of the router
You should be able to forward the exact ports you need to allow them to work
Don't however open all ports as this will leave your computer open to attack

You can assign a pre defined application to by pass the firewewall
You probably need to create a new application, call it "Visio TV" for eg and enter ports 80 and 443 and save it

Hey u wer askin about the code of star view box .. i just wanted to know if u got the code ? ? my box went down last week and all the channeles r closed.. can u plz reply me ASAP with the code

The codes have not changed, you can try and flash your box with the last released firmware, but virgin are changing over to nagravision 3, area by area.
When your area changes, thats it.......
There are NO fixes for this yet, and when they do sort something out, it will be for the new boxes that have an ethernet port.
try Afterdawn for more info.. good luck

How do i find the network key on a netgear1004 router please? thank you.

you have to hook up thru the ethernet first.......to the computer from the netgear.........once connected go online in your browser...in the address bar type in this exactly 192.168.0.1 and then hit enter, you will see a small login screen user/login= admin, and password=password. now you should be looking at the router configuration page......there will be a tab or button that says wireless settings .....click it. you can change the SSID to a name you can recognize when "viewing available connections", scroll down and select wep 64 bit encryption, scroll down to where a box labeled key 1 is ...........in the box next to key 1 type in a 10 digit encryption (area code and phone number usually works great) and then click apply or save, usually located at the bottom of the page. once the page refreshes , double check your new settings to make sure they were saved...sometimes a router will force its own encryption and maynot save your 10 digit code in key1, if that happens just right down the code that is in it and you should be good to go. close out of all that stuff, pull out the ethernet cable and try to "view available wireless connections", you should then see your new SSID and click to connect with your new 10 digit encrytption code. also some routers have the default encryption code printed on the bottom of the router in a UPC type barcode with the numbers, it will say security pin or something close to that. its not the device mac or cmac.

I have and know my code, but when the computer starts, it puts a different code into the network box. How do I set with the code for automatic start each time?

1) What operating system are you running on the computer?
2) Is your problem with the router, or your computer? If your setting up the router, then you have to press the "Save" button when you enter various different setup perameters. You will then have to set the profile up on your computer to match those perameters.

First connect your router to computer with ethernet cable.
Then access it with following link.
http://192.168.1.1
or
http://192.168.0.1
type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or blank or "password"
then you can see configuration page of router settings.
Go to wi fi or wireless menu then find WEP or WAP security code key it is your password to connect wi fi network. If it is in * or # format then add new code so you can connect it with new code.
then save settings and restart router.
Let me know if you need more assistance.
Thanks.

I need the encryption code from my netgear

If you have forgotten your passphrase or whether you set it on wep or something else you can punch the reset button on your router and start over again. If you didn't set your router up with encryption it my be wide open and you want need any code at all just log on. You can log into your router by typying this in your address box in internet explorer and hiting the enter key. Type 198.162.1.1 and if it comes up to your router type in your login name: admin and your password admin and hit the enter key and should be in your router and make the changes you need and save it and the restart internet explorer and you should be online. Hope this helps:

Security code for Linksys router

Many Windows XP users have home networks which utilize a router which allows several computers to share the same Internet connection. It is important to know that perimeter security is just as important as keeping your PC locked down. Doing so will prevent successful attacks from the outside world. This article covers how to secure a Linksys WRT54G router.

Here are the step-by-step instructions:
  1. Log in to your router by opening your web browser and going to http://192.168.1.1 - this is the address to acces your router. If this is your first time logging in, leave the username field blank and enter 'admin' (without the quote marks of course) as the password.
  2. The first thing to do is back up your current configuration. This way if you set something incorrectly you can always revert back to the original setup. Click the "Administration" tab.
  3. Click "Config Management"
  4. Click the "Backup" button. Choose a location to save your configuration where you will remember.
  5. Click "Management"
  6. If you have not yet created your own router password you will need to do this now. If you have, please skip to step 11.
  7. Next, where it says "Router Password:" enter a new password into the text field.
  8. Enter the password again in the box that says "Re-enter to confirm:".
  9. Then, Click the "Save Settings" button. and wait for the confirmation page.
  10. Click the "Continue" button. From now on when you log in you will need to enter 'admin' as the username and use your new password.
  11. Click the "Security" tab.
  12. Where it says "Firewall Protection:" tick the box that says "Enable" if it is not already selected.
  13. Place a check mark next to the box where it says "Block Anonymous Internet Requests"
  14. Place a check mark next to the box where it says "Filter Multicast"
  15. Place a check mark next to the box where it says "Filter Internet NAT Redirection"
  16. Place a check mark next to the box where it says "Filter IDENT(Port 113)"
  17. Click the "Save Settings" button and wait for the confirmation page.
  18. Click the "Continue" button.
  19. If you are not using your router for incoming http (web) connections, it is a good idea to turn off remote admin. Click the "Administration" tab again. Where it says "Remote Management:" tick the box that says "Disable" if it is not already selected.
  20. Click the "Save Settings" button and wait for the confirmation page.
  21. Click the "Continue" button.
  22. Sometimes disabling this does not work, so to make sure, click "Applications & Gaming"
  23. In the first available slot under the "Application" column, enter "Security".
  24. In the same row, under the "Start" column, enter the number 80.
  25. Enter 80 again in the adjacent box to the right under "End".
  26. For the "Protocol" select "TCP".
  27. Under "IP Address" enter the number 254.
  28. Check the "Enable" box for this entry.
  29. Click the "Save Settings" button and wait for the confirmation page.
  30. Click the "Continue" button. This will divert all incoming connections for web access to the router to a non-existant host. This reduces the chance of a break-in from a nosy outsider.
