My viking range will not get hot - Viking VGSC366-6B Gas Kitchen Range

When I turn on the oven, the burners are not going on at full heat. The left one will start up strong but simmer down to a warm little glow in about 20 seconds. Then the right some times will kick up to a med force but the left will go out completely. They are never on together in a cold start. I have replaced the dual thermal gas ct-rl valve but the problem is still there. The oven takes hours to heat and can not hold a 350 temp. Is there any other controller I can get to fix this poor oven? Any other components ?

Replace the ignitors, they control when the dual thermal valve opens.

If you have a clamp on meter they should read between 3.2 and 3.4Amps

Viking griddle flaking

I have the same thing happening with my Viking griddle. I have nearly the whole top seasoned to a jet-black state - and it is stick free!! Now up near the front edge the coating/seasoning is chipping off. I've just been taking the loose chips off and not worrying about it too much, it maybe the size of a half dollar at this point. The front edge of the griddle is the hot spot on mine; and I've learned to adapt my cooking techniques. My guess is the hot spot on my griddle is responsible for the flaking...

One thing that you can check is make sure that you have 220 volts at the plug. Leave the unit unplugged and check continuity on the burners. You should have continuity on the burners.

How to remove black grease and smoke marksfrom brushed stainless

In order to avoid damage to the surface, my favorite is petrol (gasoline) to melt the muck and then a standard non abrasive detergent cleaner to get rid of the smell of petrol. Alternatively, you can try a proprietary oven cleaner (one that doesnt need the oven to be hot)

Burner ignitor will not turn off after the burner lights Viking

replace the electrode that's the wire or pilot tip, it has a sensor built in, when it gets hot it stops automatically. if the electrode is between the front and rear burners, there are small holes on the burners going down on the side of the burner facing the ignition. they need to be clean. try a paper clip and insert the clip in side the holes.
