that is what most folks do when cars or appliances fail.
or learn to fix them your self. (takes lots of skills)
here are some tests (checks) but do know we cant see it or hear it.
watching a show, as in watching what, name it,
eg. my guess ,you were streaming .videos online, who's videos
netflix or youtube or what.
- it oveheated. sure.
- lost internet connections.
- that TV has issues, try a different one , to prove this.
- the PC is failing, (infected with a virus)

internet fails. (run internet speed test yet?)
TV fails.
PC fails.
its one of those or a bad cable.
Are you referring to RCA cable (red, white, and yellow) plugs. Most monitors use VGA, DVI, HDMI for PC's
