Question about Mpio FY500 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Internal memory and fomatting problems

I am having similar problems with "Unable to format" posted by Fearcy on Jan 22, 2007. On the FY500, when turned on it is showing that there is 495MB free space and 0.00 used. However, on the computer and when the USB is attached, the drive is showing that there are 0 bytes used and o bytes free. Other times, it might show 495MB used and 0 free even though there are NO files added!!! Upon trying to format the device, I am prompted with a message that says "Windows was unable to complete the format". I have not been able to load anything to the device.

Error windows was unable to complete the format

I experienced the same problem (my USB device ). try these steps:
1. Start, Control Panel,
2. Performance and Maintenance,
3. Administrative Tools,
4. Computer Management,
5. Disk Management,
6. Find the USB drive (usually the last storage device before the optical drive),
7. Click on the USB drive,
8. Right click on it and you will see the options (New Partition or Format)
9. Follow the instruction (I chose FAT32), but please do NOT chose Quick Format.

Mp3 wont format

place the unit into a computer and use it to format. If you have windows xp or later you can go into the control panel, then look to Administrator tools. in that you will fidn computer management. From that there is disk manager in the computer management console. from there destroy the partition adn reformat it and assign a letter.

Expansion card

The issue with the card is not song format as you said it's the card format. When you put you're it into the CPU I?m assuming that you clicked yes on the warning/and or problem window and it formatted it to the CPU. So what you need to do is find what format the hardrive /and or internal memory is and format the card to that.

First of all, sorry for my English
If you still have this mp3 or for anyone who sees this solution, this is what I did:
- Remove de mp3 battery. - Press and hold down de "Func" and "Play" buttons. - Connect the mp3 to computer's usb. - A message of formating the mp3 will appear. - Release de buttons and press de "Rec" button. - Formating will start and in a few seconds the mp3 will work again.
Hope it works... it does in a FY400
