Sprayed HDTV screen to clean it NOW no picture

I washed my TV screen with vinegar and water in a spray bottle, I didn't leave the solution soaking, I wiped it all. Later last night, the TV came on and you could see 1/2 the screen and the other 1/2 was white, now it's all white. Can I fix this???? Thanks!!

First of all vinegar is acidic. You are supposed to use a soft cloth or tissue dampened with the proper cleaning solution for LCD screens. You can also make your own cleaning solution.

Even though you think you used very little, all it takes is a single drop or enough vapors to go down below the screen to the circuit board inside. Once liquid touches one of these boards most often damage will occur.

These boards are multi layered and use very high density SMD technology. They are usually impossible and too costly to service. The normal practice is to change the defective board, and then do any necessary adjustments.

I would suggest you call the service rep for your TV type and inquire about how to go about getting an estimate. I can tell you fixing this type of set will not be low in cost.

SOURCE: My tv stopped showing picture but still apperears

If the whole screen is just white light, the the LCD controller (t-con) board may have gone out. Your TV can have more than one version of the boards inside.

HOW TO SPOT CLEAN A CARPET
I have a "furry family" of a dog and 2 cats who I love dearly. Unfortunately, my carpet has suffered from several "accidents" and "upset tummies". It is a challenge to find an effective cleaner that cleans the stain, reduces the odor in the carpet, and is reasonably priced.

In the past, I have tried commercial products that were both expensive and ineffective. I have also used vinegar mixed with water and, although it was effective, it did not achieve the results that I would have liked. So one day, I decided to mix a little scented fabric softener in with the vinegar and water and VOILA what a difference! It removed the stain and left the carpet soft and smelling fresh. It has become my preferred method of dealing with pet stains on the carpet.

If you decide to give this a try, be sure to test this solution on an inconspicuous place on your carpet to be sure it does not discolor or lighten it. So far, I have had only good results from its use.

To Spot Clean a small area:

  1. Fill an empty clean spray bottle with equal parts of water and vinegar. Then add a capful of scented fabric softener to the bottle. Shake it up for 30 seconds.

  2. Spray the stained area

  3. Let it sit for 2 minutes and then spray a little more on it.

  4. Rub the stain with a dry cloth until it disappears.

  5. The vinegar odor will fade as it dries and helps to remove the foul smell

  6. Let it dry and you will notice a nice fresh smell and your carpet will be soft.

  7. Once you vacuum, you will have a hard time telling where the stain was.
I have actually used the mixture above in my Bissell Carpet Cleaning machine with good results. It is much less expensive than commercial carpet cleaning solutions. Be sure to read your machine manual or contact the manufacturer to make sure it does not affect its operation. So far my machine is tolerating it well.

This is a personal tip that I just wanted to share with others. I hope you find it useful.

Is there a process known to man that cleans windex streaks off an lcd screen?

How to Clean an LCD Screen
So, first of all, let's decide what we don't use to clean it:
Anything containing bleach or ammonia, such as Windex. That will react with the plastic and make the plastic screen become cloudy and discolored.
Anything sharp, pointy or abrasive.
Your easiest choice is one of those LCD cleaning solutions they sell in places where they sell computers. But they're expensive, and why bother when you can make your own solution for next to nothing?

What you'll need:
Distilled water (available at your supermarket; tap water leaves streaks and minerals).
White vinegar (you may substitute isopropyl alcohol; either way, make sure these substances are diluted before they come near your screen).
A clean, soft cloth (never use any kind of paper product).
A spray bottle.

Directions:
In the spray bottle, mix the distilled water and alcohol/vinegar, in a 1:1 ratio.
Turn off the LCD display.
Spray the mixture onto the cloth, never directly onto the screen.
Wipe gently - oh, so gently - from top to bottom. Do it horizontally, too, if you think that leaves a cleaner result.
Let the screen dry before turning it back on.

Hands Off!
Fingers leave dirt and oil smudges that must be cleaned off. Also, every time you touch the screen you risk doing damage to those tiny creatures inside that hold the colored flashlights. Keep your fingers to yourself.

How do l clean the dryer lent screen

HI,The best way to clean the dryer lint screen is physically very careful with your hand remove the lint on the screen and place the removed lint in the garbage. If you have a garden hose, set it to a spray and spray down the screen outside,if that is possible.Do not use heavy pressure on the spray setting as you do not want to spray the water to hard and rip the screen.Take a spray bottle with white vinegar and mix water and vinegar in the spray bottle.Spray down the screen with the water and vinegar mixture. This will help clean and sanitize the dryer lint screen. Then just let the screen dry outside in the sun.Now you have a clean and sanitized dryer lint screen.I hope this helps you.Carrie

Washed screen with windex now tv won't turn on

Flat screens should never be washed. You should only wipe it with a lens cloth or lint free duster. The tv will not work until it has completely dried. I suggest that you leave it switched off overnight and then try again.

Mitsubishi TV Screen Water Stain Problem

You can use warm water and a soft cloth to try and clean it, but it will probably leave some evidence that liquid existed between the two layers at some point. Mitsubishi will deal screens directly to their customers if you ask nice enough and are willing to install yourself.

How to clean out drain hose

Believe it or not...I think it is fixed. I used a coat hanger to try to take out as much "gunk" as I could from the drain plug hose. I added warm water and then vinegar to the hose with a medicine dropper to help loosen the "gunk" I also forced air with the medicine dropper and I could hear it in the tub from the pump. Then I knew it was free of "gunk." I ran 3 hot cycles 2 with 1/2 gallon each of vinegar and one plain water cycle. Between each cycle I emptied the drain plug hose and drain pump filter. After the three cycles the water came out clean and not muddy. I also took a spray bottle of hot water and sprayed the "gunk" from around the seal to release it and out of the washer. I alternated with the spray bottle of water and vinegar applied with a small paint brush. I also noticed this "gunk on the stainless steel tub as well. I used the paint brush and painted vinegar on that and sprayed down with the hot water. I then did a load of towels and this morning my washer does not smell and is clean as can be...no more "gunk." what is that stuff anyway? Too much soap or softener? Anyone else have this problem? I was told by the service tech a few years ago that I didn't need to open that door because that is where they service the machine from.....wrong....I was to empty that drain hose from time to time. That was the first time I opened that door and the machine is 4 years old....
