Question about Panasonic PT-53WX53 53" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
I have a panasonic 53in proj tv (7 years old). i was watching it and the screen suddenly got darker. i can make some adjustment using the tv controls, but it still doesn't get as bright as usual. is this something i can fix myself? if so, what part do i need, providing you have enough info? thanks in advance!!!
If you have an ESR meter check C509 on the D board or simply unsolder it and replace it - remember it is polorized so make sure you put the new one in the same direction that the old one comes out.. Then let me know...
If you're not comfortable with that, this is a common problem that causes dark screen and you can probably have a tech come to the home with his trusty ESR meter and check a few caps in that circuit..
