Use of Canon 60D's wireless function to control power on Canon 430EXII, being operated manually.

Promo information for Canon 60D indicates to me that its wireless technology can fully control Canon Speedlites, but I've been told by Canon techs that it can't control the power of my 430EXII when power is being set manually. I'd like to use 430EXII as an off-camera slave, triggered by the camera's pop-up flash (with flash deactivated). It seems like this should be possible, but I can't figure out how.

The following is stated on some of the promotional materials for the camera: "The EOS 60D has a Speedlite transmitter built-in for c onvenient, full featuted wireless control of EX-series Speedlite flashes set as slave units" How do I adjust power on Speedlite operated on manual being used as a wireless slave?

Some promotional materials for the 60D say: The EOS 60D has a Speedlite transmitter built-in for convenient, full featured wireless control of EX-series Speedlite flashes set as slave units". How can I use camera to adjust power on 430EXII, operating on manual, on wireless basis?

Your flash will fire optically. This is wireless but not radio. On the flashgun window move through the options until you see all of these in the window :- Flashing M, MZoom (24mm)
(the power output eg) 1/4
Flashgun icon CH1 Slave (blank)
The front panel should show a flashing red light. This means it is ready to receive the light signal from your onboard flash. From the camera menu select the in built flash control.
Set it to - Built-in flash - CustWireless
Flash mode - Manual flash
Wireless func - (single flashgun icon)
Channel- 1 ch
firing group - (flashgun icon)All
(flashgun icon) flashoutput - 1/64

selecting 1/64 should be sufficient to trigger the flash gun but not light the scene.

Manually pop up the onboard flash

In the view finder you'll see a number of green bars when half pressing the shutter and wait for them to go down to one which mean the camera and flashgun are communicating, fully press to take the shot and the flash (off camera) should fire.

SOURCE: CANON 40D. Had Flash Error code 05. Powered down

Pop up flash locking mechanism needs adjustment or to be replaced . You might be able to do this yourself but the top cover has to come off completely ( the mechanism I am talking about is on the inside of the top cover and is not expensive ).
One reason for sending it in is that if the mechanism ( small electro magnet and the lock ) has to be replaced you will need spare parts and these are not freely available.

I can help you fix the BUSY Error or Error 99 of your Canon EOS Rebel XS / Canon EOS 1000D.

Installation of this Canon EOS Rebel XS / Canon EOS 1000D firmware version 1.06 update will solve these problems:

  1. Some cameras may exhibit a phenomenon in which the LCD monitor does not display, the shutter does not release, and the BUSY indication remains lit in the viewfinder.
  2. The message, "Err 99 Shooting is not possible. Turn the power switch to<OFF> and <ON> again or re-install the battery", appears on the camera's LCD monitor, and after the above operation is carried out,the LCD monitor displays in a language that is different from the actual language setting.
See the firmware instructions and download the firmware upgrade by following these Fixya Tips :

  1. Follow this link to download a pdf version of the firmware installation instruction guide.
  2. Follow this link to download the Windows Version of the Canon EOS Rebel XS / Canon EOS 1000D firmware version 1.06 update.
  3. Follow this link to download the MAC version of the Canon EOS Rebel XS / Canon EOS 1000D firmware version 1.06 update.
  4. Follow this link to download the Canon EOS Rebel XS / Canon EOS 1000D Instruction Manual.

I hope that helps.

SOURCE: After I have detached my

After I have detached my external flash (Nissin Digital Speedlite Di622), my Canon EOS 60D does not recognize the fact that the external flash is already detached. Thus, this does not allow the built-in flash to pop out when needed.

I have tried turning the power off and on again. The problem persists.

I'm trying to use my canon speed lite 199a on my

The 199A is not designed to be a wireless controller. It was designed long before wireless control of flash units was available in consumer flash units. You'll need to use the built-in flash, a more modern Canon (or compatible) controller, or some other wireless setup (possibly radio).

Canon 550 ex speedlight - flashes okay. Won't sink with 60d (tried different cameras at dealer - same problem) Camera is okay .

Bruce,
Try these steps:
1. Set camera to manual2. Set shutter to 1/60
3. Set aperture to F5.6
4. ASA/ISO 200
5. 550EX on hotshoe
6. Do not set on slave or master
7. Turn on flash

Display must shows, ETTL.
If that doesn't work, you have to use the flash on manual.
Some of this model will not work fully on ATG Canon EOS-1D C, ATG Canon EOS-1D X IR, Canon EOS-1D X/60D/T4i because this flash is over 20 years old.

Unless you would want it to be modified by me.
But that can be costly when you can get the 580EX II for less than $425.00 USD.

I have imagerunner 1630 has code e000 how can i fix it

If the machine detects an error in the fixing assembly, the DC controller PCB operates
as follows:
[1] It causes the FSRDRV* signal to go '1' to cut power to the fixing heater.
[2] It causes the RLYDRV signal to go '0' to turn off RL1, and indicates 'E000' through
'E004' on the LCD in the control panel.

When 'E000' through 'E004' is indicated, the NVRAM on the DC controller
PCB remembers an error in the fixing assembly even when the
power switch is turned off and then on. After turning on the power, be
sure to execute the following in service mode to remove the error information:
#7 PRINTER > #4 PRINTER RESET > YES = (*).
