Question about Coby TF-DVD7107 Portable DVD Player
All these days DVD disc were recognised and played. Over last few days DVD disc are not been recognised and a message "wrong disc" displayed. VCDs can still be played.
Two things, Laser gone low and can't read dvd. Just try cleaning the collimating lens with a cotton swab and glass cleaner. gently wet one end and dry residue with the other end.
The other thing is could be just a mutilated loom (flex) cable connecting the laser from the main pcb board. Laser is most likely gone bad.
