Cleared codes with scanner, installed new throttle body, checked codes nothing showed, test drove with the same problem, code reappears. what should I try to test?
I would worry or be concerned about the code.
The code is about the throttle sensor or actuator. If the sensor is faulty or the computer is not getting a good signal from the sensor it does not know what the throttle position is.
You might try resetting the throttle position - clear the code, key on but don't start, hold pedal to the floor, key off.
Thank you for explaining how to reset the throttle position in the ecm... I will try that soon as I go back to the garage. I know the book mentions haveing a scanner to help with this but the book never explained the procedure. Sounds legitamate and highly possible cure. I will let you know if it works. Thanks again, I appreciate this
Stephen, I tried the procedure you suggested, but it still acts the same way... any other suggestions? I am going to trace some wires and see if maybe a mouse or something has gotten to the harness. I also found out the cruise control doesn't work now and it always worked correctly before.
I would agree that checking the wiring is next on the list.

SOURCE: Have 2000 Toyota Camry XLE. Check Engine light
What your asking, is how to make a malfunction light
go away from your dash, so you can forget you have a
problem & make no attempt to repair the car
Until you find & resolve active OBD2 Codes that actually set
a MIL or Check Lamp it will keep coming back
Every time you clear a code you have to run a drive cylce in
some cases to start the procees over, as you need those codes
to diagnose the issues
The codes that are there, do not tell you what to replace
Without writing a book here, just study OBD Systems online &
take the car to a repair shop
It is beyond your ability at this time to figure out

A bad vacuum line will cause this code also. Also it will cause a rough idle and stalling. Open the hood and listen for a hissing sound. track it and you,ll find the leak. Also I would just check all the lines to make sure another in not ready to go.

Sorry new to this site and I thought I added this under my car and it would show up.. anyway.. I am trying to figure out a 99 VW beetle, automatic with cruise, GLS 2.0 engine.
I have checked for leaks, useing a fog system for vacuum leaks, none show. I am not worried about the check engine light as much as the fact that this car wont climb hills or pass without stalling out. anything over 1/4 throttle and it stalls... let off accelerator and it will pick back up and run until the throttle is passed 1/4. If I hold at WOT, it wants to down shift which I am thinking that it thinks I am trying to use passing gear. The car idles perfect, drives with no misses but stalls on mild to heavy acceleration.
