SOURCE: i am running windows 7
The best way to get the US-122 working on Win7 is to;
-Download latest drivers for US-122 from Tascam site
-This will be a Vista 32 or 64 bit, what ever Win7 you run
-Right click the exe file, go to properties, in the compatibility tab, set compatibility mode to run as Vista SP2 version.
-Then check drivers, firmware updates
-Ensure US-122 not using MS Wavetable GS Synth.
-Set to use Asio drivers
-Check latency settings of US-122, by going to windows control panel and searching for Tascam
-Check latency settings in asio drivers, and untick 'Allow application to take over this device' or whatever it is, this should also disable MS Wavetable GS when US-122 and asio in use in use
-Around the 512 samples should get no clipping/popping, with below 10ms latency for most asio drivers, which is as good as the US gets
-Some asio drivers (Full duplex etc) will give you a false latency figure in Cubase etc, but I have found no clipping/popping or latency with US-122 set to 512 and asio driver set to mid range (around 50ms) on i7 2-3ghz, 8g ram....
