Question about Aragon 28K MKII 2-Channel Amplifier

2 Answers

Loose knobs I've had this preamp for around six months, and although its sonic performance is ok, its build quality leaves much to be desired. The knobs are starting to loosen up, to the point where, just a few weeks ago, as I turned the power knob, the thing stayed in my hand! Upon examing it up close, I realize that there is supposed to be a tiny screw which fastens the knob to its post. However, the post on the pre's body has no perforation for the screw to settle. Anyone familiar with this product will realize that the power knob (all the way to the left) is the feature that takes the most abuse: It is a double function devise which powers up the preamp on when turned clockwise, and mutes the outputs when turned counterclockwise. The user must apply a greater deal of force to this knob than to the volume and balance knobs. I thought of carefully using Krazy Glue, JB Weld, or any similar product, but I found this resource and decided to wait and see if someone out there has a better suggestion. As many of you may know, Kliptch has killed the Aragon brand, so I can't really pick this bone with them. Thanks in advance for any advice you may come up with!

6 yrs old, tubes replaced by 1st owner, perfect for first 8 months, then seems volume diminished, and now distorts when i play hard, playing soft no problem but when i strum hard it distorts

Sounds very much like low emission in the output tubes. Do you know if they were replaced with brand new or used ones? Very possibly the replacements, if they were brand new, are Chinese sourced, and sadly their quality is very low and the lifetime short. Russian Sovtek tubes are much better quality and worth paying more for. It's also important to replace output tubes in pairs, and matched pairs if possible. If the tubes age at different rates, the result is signal distortion, getting progressively worse as the valves age further, although seldom bad enough to be really objectionable - unless one of the tubes has pretty much died altogether while the other one is still performing reasonably well - in that case the symptom is pretty much exactly what you are describing.... :o)

My right ear bud cuts out every time I move my head. I've only had this pair about six months.

It shows that there is a loose connection.

Take the item back to place of purchase and get a replacement. It should be under warranty.

Take care!

Water is getting to the k-cup but does not come out unless I take the cup out and turn it around and puncture a second time. clear water runs through with no problem

Hi, W/D here.

Take an ordinary paper clip, and straighten it into an "L", with about 1" on the short side. With the Keurig opened as it would be for inserting a K-cup, locate the upper and lower puncture needles. Take the paper clip and use it to pass into the hollow needles to free up any debris that may have collected in the needles. Be careful, as the needle tips are very sharp. Do the lower needle as well. This should improve the quality of your brew.
Another thing that will help is to de-scale the machine with white vinegar. This is done by emptying the reservoir, and re-filling about half way with white vinegar. Then, brew two cups, which will draw the vinegar into the inner pot. Let the vinegar sit in the machine for several hours, and then empty the reservoir. Refill with clean water, and flush the water through the machine, one cup at a time, until no traces of the vinegar can be detected. This will keep your machine brewing at it's peak performance. Most folks perform this cleaning every six months or so, but you really need to do it according to the quality of your water, that is, use six months as a maximum, and more often if necessary.
Hope this gets your coffee back to just right. I KNOW how important that is!
Best regards, --W/D--

Hi, the elements on my duke e101-e 240v single phase convection oven keep going out every 3 to six months...is there any other reason why they would go out so often?

Check that the elements are high quality, dont use cheap elements, also replace all the elements and all are working, do not leave the door open while heating for along time. Do not power cold water on them while hot to clean let them cool down gradually.make sure the termina conection to are not loose during replacement. swicth off when you dont need to use for a long

Did I kill my NT1A Condenser Microphone?

This mic has a pre-ampcircuit inside. It sounds like that preamp has a defective stage. What you are hearing is distortion. This is not something that can be repaired locally. This mic should be sent to the manufacturer for repair.
