i have the same situation. The workround I use is this... Method 1 Start the laptop with the mains disconnected Once Widows is running plug in the mains adaptor The battery will charge correctly, the laptop will run on the battery if the adaptor is unplugged
Second method if the battery is flat Start up with the battery removed Once windows has started - plug in the battery The battery will charge correctly
I have found no permanent solution so I use method 1 mostly
Try to unplug all the PCI cards and boot, if its still doing it check the ram. If its still doing it check to see if the power supply is good. If all that fails, It could be eather a bad mother board or bad processor.
