Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I'm using IE 7 and Firefox 3. I'm able to pull up all websites i type in but one on my desktop PC. The error I'm getting is "Page Load Error" Network Timeout The server at .com is taking too long to respond. However on my phone through sprint and on my laptop through same Comcast modem I use for my PC I'm able to see the site. It's not a the host server otherwise i wouldn't be able to pull it up on my phone and laptop, or so i think. I've tried turning off my firewall and still i can not pull up site. I've Talked to tech of host site. Went to www.pagewash.com - That site removes all ISP proxy settings and runs it thru a clean proxy. It worked there so he told me problem is on the network somewhere between my computer and the ISP or the ISP out to the net. Unfortunately my ISP does not have "real" techs and i'm still talking with people reading canned answers.

OK I did that and here is my result

ping www,foxynation.com [74.53.235.66] with 32 bytes of data:

    Request timed out.

    Request timed out.

    Request timed out.

    Request timed out.

    Ping statistics for 74.53.235.66:

    Packets: Sent =4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100%),

Also my firewall was turned off for the ping test. What next? thanks

Try to ping it,
go start then to run , type "CMD"
then type "ping www.thatwebsite.com"
if there is any reply so ur ISP is working fine
if not try to put the DNS server address in that pc manually,
and check if there any installed personal firewall

ok man, did u check ur tcp/ip config.
go to control panel, then network-connections
then right click in ur lan connection,
then double click on ("internet protocol (tcp/ip)"
check "obtain an ip address auto"
and check "obtain dns server address auto"
if this is ur default settings, try to modify them
first go to run and type "cmd" then type "ipconfig"
copy the same ip address, subnet mask, default gateway,
and put the default gateway ip in the preferred dns address
    then press ok
    and try

When I am on the internet most times I get an error that an unexpected error has occured & my browser page just closes & dissapears. I have internet exployer 7. Can someone please help me.

Yes its a problem with Internet Explorer (IE). Try to upgrade it to latest version.

OR you can switch to another browser like Firefox, Opera or Chrome. These load pages faster, don't hang and yes they don't close pages by themselves.

How do i change my homepage to Yahoo?

Bring up the browser window and let it load to whatever page it is set for. Once it loads, click up in the address bar and type in www.Yahoo.com and click enter. When the Yahoo screen loads, click on the "Tools" column and scroll down to "Internet Options". In this window the first area you see is the homepage tab. Click on "Use Current", this will make the current page your home page, which is Yahoo. Click apply and OK.

Facebook loading errors

It seems your system has a problem with Java updates or some spyware infection. First way to fix this problem is by reseting the IE7, Tools-IE options- Advanced- Reset-Reset All. The other permanent solution is to download Mozilla Firefox which is a better browser than IE.

Page Load Error - Network Time out

Hey there MrTDubb,
I have a few ideas you may have tried already, but just in case you haven't, here you are..
First type 192.168.0.1 into the URL internet browser bar.
Enter your router's username and password. If you haven't secured the router try 'cusadmin' and 'highspeed', or 'admin' and 'password', in order to confirm that the problem is isolated to your computer, or otherwise.
If you can't access that, then navigate to your Control Panel and go into Internet Options. Hit the Connections tab and make sure 'Never dial a connection' is clicked in it's radio box.
If it is not, click it, reboot and try Firefox again.
If it is clicked, then maybe you have malware, in which case you could download Spybot (from spybot.org ) onto your laptop and transfer it with a usb drive or disk to your computer, install it, Check for Problems, wait 20 minutes, Fix Selected Problems, hit the Immunize tab on the left, click Immunize, exit and reboot.

If that doesn't work, then there is probably something wrong with either your ethernet cable, your ethernet port, or the modem driver in malfunctioning in some way.

I guess you are probably pretty frustrated by this point anyway, but if you just go down the possibilities I've listed, one at a time, then you should at least be able to isolate the problem.

Let me know how you get on.. Two heads are better than one :)

Good Luck and Season's Greetings and all that, mate

Explorer- IE Cannot load Webpages

What are you using for connection? WIreless, Lan? Go to start, run, and type in cmd push enter. then type ipconfig, press enter. This should bring all of your network connections. If you are going through a router(Wether it be Belkin, linkysys, or some other brand), the default gateway is where your connection is going through. try to ping your default gateway first. You should get four responses. If you don't there is a connection issue. I have a few other suggestions, but try these first. I hope they help.
