Question about Polycom VSX 7000 Video Conference
After configuring the Polycom VSX 7000 video conference device (behind the firewall) we are not able to hear the audio from the remote side eventhough they can hear us pretty well.
U must ensure 3 things:-
1. The polycom micropod is connected to the correct port.
2. The red button on the polycom microphone is switched off as the red button indicates that the mic is muted.
3. All the required ports in the firewall are opened for the proper videoconferencing to occur.
If all of the above conditions are met, yet the problem persists.... then probably the microphone has gone faulty

Hi
as u mentioned, (firewall), when u do this the audio packets get blocked, u need to open the audio ports or best is to go for a dedicated bandwith only menat for the VC so there is no security issue & u can use the VC much comfortably

Good luck!

Hi,
I have the same issue. We moved offices. It worked in the old office, but I'm not sure how it was set up!!
I think the Polycom phone needs to connect to the camera unit by way of a 'mic' lead. This is like an RJ11 with a 'lump' in it, and the other end is RJ45 (black). The end that goes into the the camera unit is the port beside the orange 'LAN' port. You can also connect the camera unti to the phone by way of a Visual concert box. This is brown-to-brown cable (small ends), then use the brown (small) - to - black (RJ45) to go to the phone.
Have you got it working now?
