Hello i bought a new solo x 10 dual 2ohm and had a custom enclosure built from fine customworks and i hooked up two jbl crown amps bpx 1100 amps one to each coil 1100w rms and at first it smelled burnt for a few days i asked kicker they said it was the breakin period it sounded great , and as it played it sounded better. now 2 weeks later i played it not even too loud and had the bass all the way on the front auidopipe controler with speerate controls for bass , midbass ect and it started to smell burnt again and it got worse then the sub stopped working and just sounded scratchy and low so i shut it down and checked enclosure and white smoke was coming fro the port ! , i ask did i fry the voicecoil? because this is supposed to be a 5000w peak and 2500w rms spkr right? i asked kicker at the tiem of first burnt smell and they said its supposed to be like 1500w normal playing? so i told that to the enclosure builder and he said it was just kicker covering their *** with that sub?......i never thought that 2200w fro those 2 jbl ceon bpx 1100's would kill it, im thinking if i should have a similar enclosure built but for two solox 10's and use one jbl amp for each solox 10 insated if two jbl crown 1100's for one solo x 10? this way each sub gets the 1100w and never burn?......cna anyone hepl me?

There is no such speaker as a solo-X L5.
The Solobaric L5 is 450Watts RMS and 900 Peak.
Check your documentation, and no warranty except Massive Audio covers Burned Voicecoils as it is deemed customer abuse.
If it is a typo, and not an L5, your combination (as long as each is level matched) should be ok to run on that sub. When wiring it as you describe, the two amplifiers need to be identically matched in order for both coils to play at the same level.
Seek professional installations so your warranty is intact.

If you were to parallel the 2 ohm speakers it would give you a 1 ohm load then you could connect the 4 ohm in series with the other 2 and it would give you 5 ohms...also you could series the two 2ohm speakers to give you 4 ohms and then parallel the 4 ohm speaker to give you 2 ohms...you must make sure the amplifier can go down to 2 ohms though..if you need a simple diagram on how this looks you can email me at email@example.com for a diagram.
just make sure your kenwood amp can at least handle a 2ohm stereo load.Most amps now are able to .Your amps manual should list this or go online and check for that model .You basically have 2 subs in one allowing you to use one sub box in stereo mode.And just hook it up like two speakers left and right ..make sure amp has a crossover so that you only get bass at your woofer
The only way to wire a single 4ohm DVC sub to present a 4ohm load is to just connect one voice coil. If you wire the coils in parallel, you get a 2ohm load. If you wire them in series, you get an 8ohm load. But it will work great with just one voice coil. Or if you really want to use both voice coils, and your amp isn't stable at 2ohms, wire the voice coils in series and present an 8ohm load to the amp. It'll work fine, it just won't deliver quite as much power.
For a each sub, connect one of the "+" terminals on the sub to one of the "-" terminals. This makes each sub 4 ohms.
Connect the unused "+" terminals of each sub together. Do the same with the unused "-" sub terminals. This makes the sub combination 2 ohms.
Then connect the "+" and "-" sub terminals from the above step to the amp.
If the subs are dual 4 ohm voice coils, you can't connect both subs in any fashion to get a 2 ohm impedance. The best you can do is make a single sub 2 ohms by connecting both "+" terminals together and both "-" terminals together or the pair of subs 4 ohms by doing the same, then connecting one sub's "+" terminals to the other sub's "-" terminals, then connecting the other "+" and "-" terminals to the amp.
The best you can do is connect the dual 2 ohm voice coils of each respective sub in series (4 ohms total per sub) and then connect each sub to one channel of the amp. This will give each sub 1000W, which is the rated maximum from Kicker.
