During game play the game will freeze, and thin red lines will appear horizontal across the entire screen? Please help

This could be a problem with either the actual game, or the console itself. To check, try to play other games on your video game console, if the games freeze, then it is a problem with the console. If it is only the one game freezing, then it is most likely a problem with that specific game.

Red screen

The "Red Screen of Death" usually happens in later PS3 Fat models right after you have turned on the PS3. It can happen right after the PS3 logo and wave animation appears. It is a mysterious error that seem to be software related during the checking process (perhaps some corruption in nand flash or harddrive block). When the error occurs, the screen turns red, and you see a message:

A serious error has occurred. Contact technical support for assistance.

When i play my xbox white static lines appear on the screen. it does it with all games.

Sounds like a bad connection from your AV cord or possibly a failing input port on your TV.

Try your console on a different TV and see if the problem persists. If it does continue, contact Microsoft and see if this is covered under the 3 year warranty. You could also try a friend's AV cord to see if the lines go away.

When I switch my ps3 on, there are just wavy lines across the middle of the screen, the icons do not appear and games will not play

If you have componite connetion and have played in hdmi than you need to switch the connection back and you will see the screen. Set it to auto detect, go to video settings
